Caesar looked down from the bridge down at the cars speeding through the highway accompanied by the dim red light of their tail light the latest seem to leave after images behind. Tears slowly trickled down his cheeks.
Pulling his phone out of his pocket and tried calling her again, the name Natalie with a love emoji behind it was displayed brightly on the cracked phone screen.

'Sorry the number you are trying to call is not reachable please try again later' the cold mechanical voice resounded from the phone.
"How could they do this to me " Caesar mumbled as he clenched his phone tightly before throwing off the bridge in frustration, his mind wandering back to a few hours ago.

He had received a call from her, Nathalie his girlfriend,The relationship had started a month after he came to Northport and signed a five year contract with the club and a record weekly salary of 12,000 naira. She was beautiful and kind in the girl next door kind of way but she was someone who could improve his day with just him hearing her voice. ( truly a simp protagonist)
"Hello...." Caesar called out, his voice low but the excitement barely hidden as he brought the phone to his ears. Just the person he wanted to hear from after having such a terrible day.
"Hello, Caesar are you there" Nathalie crisp voice sounded from the other side.
"Yes Nathalie.... " He said almost shouting, then a pause came from the otherside before continuing
"Caesar let's break up" She said from the other side of the line stunning him "what are you talking about" Caesar quickly asked confusion and panick evident in his voice.
"I mean I am tired of this relationship" Nathalie paused before continuing" You are a nice guy but I don't think this would work out" Nathalie said
"Why.." That was all Caesar could muster
"Am into someone else. To be precise Karl, we have being dating since the past month, I just can't do it any more" She continued "I hope we can still be friends though"
"Can we talk this out" Caesar asked his voice cracking at the weight of the betrayal. "Goodbye Caesar" Nathalie crisp voice sounded accompanied by the beeping sound of the phone.

Looking down at the highway below that looked like an abyss, Caesar hesitated for a minute the thought making his heart pound wildly in his chest.
"Maybe I should just end it here" Caesar mumbled, as he slowly climbed onto the edge of the bridge. Memories of his life filled with misfortune flashed before his eyes but he couldn't bring himself to do it
Suddenly a bright flash of lightening flashed across the sky, lightening it up and signaling the approach of rain.
"Why don't you just do it"
a creepy voice said behind him and a cold sensation immediately overtook his body, it felt like as if the abbyss itself was behind him speaking to him.
Caesar jumped back in fear quickly looking behind the shoulders to find the source of the voice but all that stared back at him was the empty darkness of the night sky filled with stars.
'Wheew' he let out a sign of relief wiping the cold sweat that had gathered on his forehead
"I must be hallucinating now. Hahaha too much web novels is not good for you kids" Caeser said to himselfas he let out a sad chuckle
"Do you want revenge" The dark sinister voice echoed again in Caeser's head loud and clear and this time he was sure he wasn't hallucinating.
"I can help you get revenge" The voice sounded infront of him and dark shadowy figure began emerging from the darkness, it was as if the creature was darkness itself, ready to devour and overwhelm everything.
Seeing this monster in front of him, Caeser trembled uncontrollably, he couldn't even move his body from the sheer presence of the entity alone as it bright red eyes bore into him.
'Gulp' Caeser couldn't help but swallow hard, the humanoid figure began to approach with slow deliberate steps it red eyes glowing in the darkness.
"Speak human, I don't have all day" The creature said in a mutilated voice but Caesar was too overwhelmed with fear to even do anything
"If you don't speak,i will bite off your head and believe I can" It said
And it seemed to do the trick
"What are you" Caeser asked his face filled with horror as his body stood frozen in shock and trembling.
"Don't you want revenge" It asked, ignoring his question "I can give it to you" It continued.
Although his heart felt like it was about to burst from pounding so hard , Caeser still managed to remain calm.
"What do you mean" He asked his voice filled with skepticism and curiosity.
"I will give you the power to get revenge on those who betrayed you" It said so my his glowing eyes staring unblinkingly at Caeser.
Even though it was against all morality to strike a deal for power with such a sinister creature he still said "Yes "against every instinct in his body screaming for him to run he still said " Yes"
Caeser knew this might be his only chance to take revenge on them for what they did to him and he wasn't willing to miss it even if it damned him.

The mysterious creature suddenly laughed creepily throwing his head back
"I really like you human, you are not hypocrites like the others and I will give you am extra reward"
it said as it disappeared like as if it had never being there.
Caeser was stunned for a few minutes standing rooted to the spot since nothing happened, he has expected for the demon to request his soul and grant him power so he could destroy them but none of that happened.
"Hahaha I must really be going crazy" Caeser said as he started in the dark clouds pulling together for the rain.
But his vision began to blur and it felt like had taken the most effective sleeping pill as he collapsed on the cold asphalt mumbling
"I really need some rest, I will be up in a few minutes"
