I had arrived home all the while spraying water like a spray bottle. Landing I went to open the door just to find Izuku blankly staring at me. "So, Where were you?" Her question was calm yet devoid of emotion. There was something about the question, Just the way she asked that instinctually told that something was wrong. I narrowed my eyes in suspicion and caution, Taking a step back I finally spoke. "I was at the beach training." "So why did All Might call and say you went missing, Even when he looked at the beach."
"I suppose he looked when I was under water." I said back to her noticing she hasn't blinked for a minute. "And pray tell how did you go under water and not get your uniform wet." She pointed to the U.A uniform that I was still wearing, Still dry. "I could show you but I just got back."
She stood in the door way assessing me, Looking for anything to indicate that I was lying before she pulled a phone out handing it out to me. "While we were out we got you a phone." She smiled, The aura surrounding her long gone and I took the phone and looked it over. It didn't have a logo or anything, As a matter of fact it looked like it was made today. 'Probably bugged' I didn't doubt this Izuku would track me at all cost when I have her attention.
Turning it on I saw it was already at 94 percent and ready to go with Data. There was no lock on it and an app already downloaded that I didn't recognize. Noticing this, Izuku stood over my shoulder. "Oh that? It's So I- Ahem we don't lose you, After all you are family to us." She smiled again covering her slip up by hugging me from behind and placing her chin on the top of my head obviously lording over her height.
"Are you going to show me how you went under water?" I sighed and wrapped a chain her waist and pulling her off me, Forming another pair of wings I took off the the beach.
At the edge of the water we stood and she was already waiting and watching for me to go into the water with her note book in hand. The moment I took a step I had taken control of the water and like a dome had formed around me the water looked like as if it were being pushed back. Izuku excitedly walked beside me as I moved forward the circle turning into a sphere both being 3 yards in diameter. Won't have to spend as much when dealing with pressure.
We neared the edge I didn't go down her muttering a comfort when everything was quiet. "I find it so fascinating that you have so many aspects to your quirk, You could do so much being an all around hero a perfect counter to all situations. I wonder what all you could do at your full potential." She muttered stopping and looking up seeing the edge I was looking down. "Did you go down there?" She asked titling her head in curiosity.
"Hell no, Its dark down there and fire kind of consumes oxygen to sustains itself. you know who else need its? we do and I ain't got a flash light on me. Oh wait." Just realizing that I got a phone now, I pull it out of my pocket and take a second just to find the flashlight setting. The light turns on and I'm now able to see further and not be as scared of the depths. I smile and turn to Izuku. "Would you like further proof of me being under water?" I said almost smugly.
She merely smiled lightly and shook her head. "There's no need but we could if you wanted." "Absolutely not, I might be able to somewhat face death but being in a bubble under the sea. I'd rather fight that Noumu a hundred time's over." A nervous smile crossing my face before I began walking to the surface Izuku trailing. "There is one thing I'm going to do though." Izuku looked at me curiosity peaking over her note book. "And that is?" She asked her pen at the ready.
Moving to the edge of the bubble I made a smaller pocket of air only a foot in diameter and a foot away from our bubble. Making a ball of mana I controlled it and moved it to the center of the smaller bubble. Once in the center I transformed it into the element of wind and letting it go. There shouldn't be any air in the small bubble until now, At least Theoretically. I still didn't know if I could create oxygen by just using the air element.
I concentrated a little harder, A ball of fire spawning into existence in the center of the small bubble not shaped and/or controlled like I would do any other time. Letting it burn with me only as the fuel and waited.
"What are trying to do?" Izuku asked slightly quieter, Observing and looking closely at me and the other bubble. I didn't look away from my little experiment as I spoke. "When I send A blast of air at you during training, Am I using the air around us to send at you or am I creating air to send at you?" She seemed to think for a second before getting what I was testing. "So do you think you could create oxygen?" I teeter my hand in a so so gesture. "That's not the only thing I'm testing, I want to see If The fire I create can burn even with no oxygen or even in the water."
Izuku nodded getting ready to write down anything. "So that's why you created another bubble, To not waste our air." She nodded once more and looked around. "You know it's almost romantical down here, just the two of us, alone. Almost like a date" She looked at me gauging my reaction. I chuckled already knowing what it is she trying to get at. "I suppose it could be, If you weren't my best friend in the whole wide world. Emphasis on friend by the way." The shit eating grin on my face couldn't get any wider as I watched the fire in the smaller bubble not go out.
She didn't say anything for another ten minutes.
The fire didn't go out either meaning it wasn't oxygen I created and the fire I made in the center doesn't need it or, I did make some air but it didn't matter since all I need is mana to sustain it. With my observation done I did one last thing. I popped the smaller bubble letting the water surround the flame. I looked upon it as I kept it fueled it costing nearly three times as much to continue a the same size.
"I guess that does it, I guess I should buy a machine to gauge oxygen levels next time." I said my mind still buzzing in curiosity, For what other things could I do if I knew how to manipulate my mana in other ways. Letting the flame be consumed by the ocean I turned to Izuku who had not done or said anything. I gave her a pat on the head and holding on to her hand to lead her back home.
One trip to the surface and a flight later I was mentally tired, Washed up and ready for bed. It was eight almost nine. I think I broke Izuku, Her eyes looked dulled and she was already laying on my bed. 'Its fine' I thought to my self she just has so sleep this off or something.
Sliding in on the other side of the bed I wasn't surprised when Izuku latched on to me, But this time she smile very widely and her eyes were still dulled. She chuckled then finally spoke, Quietly and close to my ear lips nearly touching them. "I'll be your bestfriend, As long as I'm your only friend. The only one close toyou."
Weighing my options for responses, Then choosing to continue to antagonize. "I'll think about it." I then turned away letting her be the big spoon again as I closed my eyes.
I sure hope nothing goes wrong.
