Without warning, Sil exploded forward in a blur as well, his fist launching in a vicious arc aimed directly at the creature's throat. It reacted instantly, bringing its forearm up to parry the blow, the impact resonating loudly in the enclosed space. Undeterred, Sil pivoted gracefully, driving his knee upward with lethal precision toward the creature's exposed abdomen.
Sil surged forward, flanking the massive opponent. Fluid and agile, he landed sharp, targeted strikes, aiming precisely for gaps in the armor, joints vulnerable to pressure and pain. The beast roared, swinging its claws in a sweeping arc. Sil ducked smoothly beneath the lethal trajectory, responding with a devastating uppercut to the being's jaw.
With a guttural grunt, Sil spun into the beast's flank a second time, his elbow smashing directly into the armor plate protecting its ribs, the force enough to cause pain down to the bone beneath protective exterior. His movements were a dance of calculated efficiency.
As the beast shifted its stance in an attempt to fend off Sil, he struck, in his hand now was a small, precision dagger. With ruthless accuracy, he struck, embedding the blade deeply into the gap beneath the large armored shoulder plate.
The creature snarled, pivoting furiously to throw him against the wall. He crashed painfully, a sharp breath escaped, and he glanced back up just in time to see the dagger dislodging. Sil's growl echoed through the cave as he launched himself again, fists hammering relentlessly, each strike aimed strategically—attempting to strike in the same location as much as possible.
The alien mole staggered, balance compromised. In that fleeting vulnerability, Sil surged forward, retrieving the dagger that he had somehow managed to get a hold of after it fell from the monster's shoulder. He then buried it fiercely into the unfortunate being's exposed neck.
Blood spurted violently, the monstrous thing's underdeveloped eyes widening briefly in shock before dulling rapidly. It slumped heavily, its armored bulk thudding to the cavern floor with a resonant echo.
Sil panted lightly, eyes alert, scanning swiftly for further threats as he stretched his knuckles. Rolling his shoulders with satisfaction, while he wiped blood from his face, his expression was grimly resolute. He stood silent for a moment, listening with his breath held, hoping the cacophony of ghastly noises from their struggle hadn't reached unwanted ears.
Unfortunately, Sil now faced a new problem. The massive carcass of the mole blocked his path forward entirely. He rubbed his chin contemplatively, then with a mild grimace, he approached the foul smelling, blood drenched corpse. He looked a bit closer at the deep wounds that he had inflicted on its form, then peered through the slivers of unobstructed space that remained on either side of its massive body.
Sil examined the amount of room he had to work with, as simply climbing over the beast wasn't exactly an option. He tried to gauge how far away the next cavern was. Looking over his shoulder he tried to recall how far he had come already. His options weren't really ideal, but then again, when were they ever?
At the end of the day, Sil was weary of wasting the use of any of his MC on this little roadblock, mainly because of the daunting task still ahead of him— disposing of Morvidk. Not to mention being able to return himself and his brothers to their ship when all was said and done.
If he was being honest with himself, he constantly had a worry in the back of his mind that his brothers might find themselves in some kind of trouble and he would have no choice but to expend his precious MC at that point. So conserving was even more imperative, if he intended to defeat the celestial that is.
Which— of course— he absolutely did.
After much deliberation and left with options that could only be described as bleak, at best, Sil pushed up his sleeves and got to work. Lowering himself slightly, he found stable footing, and then he shoved. Will all of his super human might and muscle he pushed. He pushed the dead beast's, colossal body further down the tunnel, towards the upcoming cavern.
It wasn't necessarily difficult, even without his super strength, his body was godlike after all. The only problem Sil ended up struggling with was being able to find good footing. There were many jagged ruts in the stone floor and walls, as well as many crevasses and divots with which to anchor his foot to.
Unfortunately this wasn't always the case, and when he could find none, his boots would simply slide across the frictionless sleek patches of the stone like material, the most prevalent mineral on that planet. Many small sections were worn smooth long ago by the constant buffing of matted coats from the many beasts that used these very tunnels as their home and hunting grounds.
Then there were the slime trails left glistening in the wake of the occasional bioluminescent, serrated snail type creatures. Sil had been fortunate enough to only cross paths with a few of them directly. After discovering how corrosive their slime was when it came in contact with his footwear, Sil had been careful to give those in particular a very generous breath.
Of course the angle at which the once mighty foe had fallen unceremoniously to the frigid stone floor beneath it. The massive creature had technically collapsed towards Sil, leaving him facing the top of the being, while its six legs remained facing the opposite and were therefore not currently within his view.
The enormous creature took up nearly the entire passage way and so every couple of shoves, one of the thick beastial legs would get wedged up against the wall, and Sil would have to grab one side of the thing and tug with all his natural might, so that the leg in question would fall free of the tight predicament and allow for more forward movement.
All in all, it was very time consuming and laborious. Sil was growing a bit frustrated with his no win situation as he allowed for a mild groan of exertion to escape his lips. Until he heard something moving beyond the giant carcass, causing him to freeze.
How exactly was he supposed to fight something he couldn't even get to? Sil sighed exasperated. So far this whole thing had already taken so much out of him, and he didn't want to think about what else this rescue mission might have in store.
