Go back to the company to handle business?

Maria turned her head and glanced at the sun.

It was rising from the east.

So, going back to the company? Yeah, right. Tony was lying.

"Go back to the company? Don't try to fool me. Did you just get out of someone's bed?" Maria Stark exposed Tony Stark's lie without hesitation. "I'm sending Happy to pick you up. I have something urgent."

"I'm not—"

"Hurry up and get here, my dear son!"

Maria cut him off and hung up immediately.

Clap!

She and Peggy Carter exchanged a high-five.

"Done!"

"Nicely handled!"

Happy took the phone back, unable to suppress a smile.

Seeing these two old ladies so full of energy—it was actually pretty nice.

Just to be clear, it wasn't because he was excited about Tony Stark losing money. Definitely not.

Peggy Carter got out of the car, and Maria turned to Happy. "He's all yours, Happy!"

Happy nodded.

"Oh, right!" Maria suddenly remembered something. She paused as she stepped out of the car and added, "If Tony refuses to come, just ask him if he still wants his mother."

Happy's expression turned serious as he nodded. "I'll make sure to bring him back."

Honestly, over the past two years, Mrs. Maria had become more and more like a stubborn child.

"Enough talking. Get moving!"

Peggy Carter waved at Happy, urging him on.

Happy gave them a quick salute before driving away.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Tony let out a helpless sigh and rubbed his forehead.

Mahjong…

Had he known, he never would've gotten curious enough to learn it.

Ding ding ding!

His phone rang. Tony picked up. "What's up, Pepper?"

"Mr. Stark, are you coming to work today or not?"

"I…"

He had initially planned to say yes, but then he thought about the consequences of breaking his promise. If he bailed now, his old lady would nag him for days. He changed his answer. "I've got something to do. Come pick me up at the hotel, and we'll go together."

"Got it."

Pepper Potts hung up.

"Tony?"

A lazy, sultry voice came from outside the bathroom, brushing against Tony's already restless mind like a feather.

Thinking about last night's performance, Tony instinctively reached for his waist and sighed.

Better take it easy.

There were still plenty of flowers left for him to pick.

"Wait a sec," he muttered.

After quickly freshening up, he opened the door.

"Tony~~"

The woman, draped in nothing, immediately wrapped herself around him.

Tony pulled her to the bed, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a pre-signed check, slipping it between her soft curves. "Let's do this again sometime."

The woman took the check, glanced at it, then planted a kiss on Tony's lips, flashing him a flirtatious smile. "I'll be waiting."

Tony chuckled.

Waiting for him?

Yeah, right. He didn't believe that for a second.

They were all adults—just playing the game.

Besides, aside from a select few, he never hooked up with the same woman twice.

As for these women…

They got the money, grabbed the headlines, and boosted their fame. It was a win-win.

Before long, both of them were dressed. The woman left first.

Tony waited for a bit until a knock came at the door.

A well-dressed, professional-looking woman stepped inside.

"Pepper!"

Tony greeted her lazily.

Pepper Potts glanced around the room, making sure there wasn't any "trash" left for her to clean up. "Thank God."

Tony smirked. "Come on, let's grab some breakfast first."

"Breakfast?"

Pepper glanced at the sun outside.

"There's no breakfast. Only lunch."

"No. If I say there is, then there is."

Tony declared domineeringly as he strode toward the door and headed to the hotel's restaurant.

While Tony was handling his so-called "breakfast," Happy arrived in his car. When he spotted Pepper Potts, his eyes widened in surprise. His gaze shifted between the two of them before he hesitantly asked, "Wait… don't tell me last night, you two…"

As he spoke, he made a suggestive hand gesture.

Tony shot his bodyguard a glare and rolled his eyes. Just as he was about to speak, Pepper Potts stomped down on Happy's foot.

"Ahhh!"

Happy let out a pained scream, and Tony's hand trembled as he nearly dropped his utensils.

Pepper smiled sweetly at Happy. "What's wrong, Happy?"

Happy forced a grin that looked even worse than crying. "I just got lucky and had my foot stepped on."

Satisfied, Pepper nodded, while Tony gave an exasperated smirk. "Suck-up. You can go now. Pepper and I will head out later."

Hearing this, Happy's face lit up. He eagerly nodded and said, "Goodbye, boss!"

Without looking back, he turned and walked away at full speed.

Pepper watched him go and sighed enviously. "When do I get to take a break?"

Tony set down his utensils and smiled. "I'll give you a raise."

Pepper clenched her fist. "I don't need a break!"

Tony chuckled, wiped his mouth, and stood up. "Let's go. If we don't leave soon, Maria's gonna smack me on the head."

Pepper couldn't help but chuckle, thinking about the usual antics between mother and son.

Meanwhile, Peggy Carter and Maria were already on the verge of smacking someone.

They had been waiting for over half an hour, and Mike still hadn't shown up.

Two old ladies—who together had lived for over 150 years—sat shivering outside Mike's house, looking like displaced protesters who had just been evicted from their homes.

"Hoo!"

Maria cupped her hands over her mouth and exhaled warm air.

Even though it was already February, the cold still bit at them.

"That's it! I'm done waiting!"

Peggy Carter huffed in frustration. "Call Mike and tell him we'll find our own way in!"

It was just too damn cold.

Maria pulled out her phone to call Mike, while Peggy reached into her bag and pulled out a small toolkit. Then, without hesitation, she knelt down and started picking the lock.

Maria blinked in shock. "Why do you carry that around?"

She looked around nervously, her head turning left and right. This was her first time doing something like this, and she had to admit—it was kind of thrilling.

Peggy continued fiddling with the lock and said matter-of-factly, "Don't underestimate me. I was an elite agent, you know. They used to call me the 'English Rose.'"

Maria nodded, then suddenly tensed up. "Oh no, someone's coming this way! What do we do?!"

"Ignore them! We're breaking into Mike-the-bastard's house. It's none of their business!"

Peggy remained focused, carefully working the lock.

It had been years since she'd done this—her skills were a bit rusty.

Maria, however, grabbed Peggy's arm and shook it frantically. Her voice trembled with panic. "He's running toward us! What now?!"

At that moment, Peggy's eyes lit up. With a final twist, the lock clicked open. "Ha! Perfect timing! Maria, you're a genius!"

Maria: "…"

What did I do?

"Hey!"

John Brennan, who had come home early since he didn't have afternoon classes, stared in disbelief at the two old ladies who had just broken into his neighbor's house.

Shouting, he demanded, "What the hell are you two doing?!"

Maria: (Д)ノ
