"Are you sure this is the right way?"
Mikino asked, prompting Sumire to nod her small head as they walked through the dark streets of Nonohana District, the smallest of the 14 districts in Kurenai village.
Sumire's teary eyes contrasted with her cold demeanor, from her leadership role in the Zaha organization. Now, with her hands bound by a silver rope, she seemed submissive, almost like a puppy.
However, what frightened her was the man walking behind Mikino, who had remained silent throughout their journey, seemingly unfazed by the ruined buildings surrounding them.
Before Sumire could learn more about Lucy, Mikino asked, "What part of Nonohana District is this? I've been here before, and I recall it being one of the most populated residential districts."
Sumire replied softly, "As you said, it's the most populated district. When the war started, people had to move to the district of their chosen leader. Some of those who didn't were killed by the Shojo for nothing."
