As they were being scanned, All Might suddenly spoke up.
"Do you know why this artificial island was created?"
Ezaki Kitazawa honestly had no idea. Since arriving in this world, he had only learned about R Country.
Midoriya, however, was much more knowledgeable.
"It was built to gather the world's top scientists to study the nature of Quirks and develop hero equipment. The reason it's a mobile city is to protect the scientists and their research from enemy attacks."
And right now, the island's security system was even more impenetrable than Tartarus Prison.
"Not once has an villain invasion ever happened here."
All Might gave a thumbs-up and smiled.
"Midoriya, you really know a lot about this kind of stuff."
Just then, the immigration check was completed.
As the automatic doors opened, an announcement played.
"The I-Island Expo, where scientists showcase their latest inventions, has officially begun! If you have an invitation, be sure to visit!"
"I-Island Expo?"
Ezaki Kitazawa muttered.
"The expo should be really exciting! The top scientists on this island will be showing off their work."
Midoriya said.
"That's right."
"We have invitations to I-Island, but do we have ones for the expo?"
Ezaki Kitazawa asked.
All Might placed his hands on his hips and grinned.
"Of course! But unlike back home, you're free to use your Quirks here."
Just as he finished speaking, a voice suddenly rang out nearby.
"All Might! It's All Might!"
As soon as that was said, a massive crowd gathered around them. Even the reporters covering the expo rushed over.
Ezaki Kitazawa and Midoriya were quickly pushed to the side.
"As expected of All Might—he's popular everywhere he goes."
Midoriya said with pride.
"Being too famous isn't always a good thing."
Ezaki Kitazawa chuckled.
"Huh? Why do you say that?"
"Whether it's work or travel, you'll always be surrounded by people. This kind of life might seem great, but to me, it sounds exhausting."
Ezaki Kitazawa replied.
"I see… Then let's go wait for All Might somewhere less crowded."
"Good idea."
The two of them agreed and moved to a nearby bench to wait.
After about half an hour, All Might finally managed to break free from the crowd and arrived at the meeting spot.
Waiting for him was a tall, beautiful woman with long blonde hair and glasses.
"Sorry for making you wait, Melissa. I ran into some trouble along the way."
All Might said as he walked up to her.
Melissa's face lit up with a smile when she saw him.
"Uncle Might! Long time no see! I'm so happy you could come!"
"I'm the one who should be thanking you for inviting me, Melissa. You've changed so much—I almost didn't recognize you!"
All Might laughed. "Haha! Uncle Matt, you're as energetic as ever!"
"By the way, where's David?"
All Might asked.
"He's still in the lab. The project he's been working on for years is finally nearing the end of its first phase, so I wanted to give him a surprise. That's why I secretly invited you, Uncle Matt."
All Might was slightly surprised. "So this is all for a surprise, huh?"
After a brief pause, he asked, "By the way, what exactly is David working on this time?"
Melissa shook her head. "He said it's confidential, so he won't say a word about it, not even to me."
"Oh, I see."
All Might then turned his attention to Ezaki Kitazawa and Midoriya Izuku.
"Ezaki, Midoriya, this young lady is the daughter of a good friend of mine. Introduce yourselves."
"Yes!"
"I'm Midoriya Izuku! A first-year student at U.A. High!"
"I'm Ezaki Kitazawa, also a first-year at U.A. High."
Melissa was a little surprised. "U.A. High? Then that means you're Uncle Matt's students?"
"That's right!"
Both of them answered at the same time.
"They're also future hero candidates," All Might added.
"Wow, that's amazing! I didn't expect you to be Uncle Matt's students. You must have a bright future ahead! What are your Quirks?"
Melissa's interest clearly grew when she heard they were All Might's students.
"My Quirk is strength-based," Midoriya answered.
Ezaki Kitazawa said, "Mine is similar."
"You have a lot of scars on your hands—are they from training?"
Melissa asked.
"Yeah!"
Melissa then walked over to Ezaki Kitazawa. Unlike Midoriya, his skin was completely unmarked. In fact, it even looked smoother than hers.
"Your costume is pretty simple. I don't see any support gear, but the material is quite good. If you upgrade it a bit, it could be even better."
Melissa circled around Ezaki Kitazawa, analyzing his outfit.
