Sinead Small had been a zookeeper at St. Mungo's Wildlife Park for six years.

Tonight, it was her turn to work the night shift. Like most nights, she expected it to be quiet—just another evening of lounging in the office, half-dozing at her desk. But that peace was shattered when a deep, guttural lion's roar echoed through the park.

Her eyes snapped open instantly.

That was Eithne's voice.

Eithne was a gentle lioness, one that Sinead had raised since she was a cub. Over the years, they had developed a close bond, and Sinead knew every nuance in the big cat's vocalizations. But this—this wasn't normal.

There was fear in her roar.

A chill ran down Sinead's spine. Eithne rarely sounded like this—only once before, when a male lion had tried to assert dominance over her.

Something was wrong.

Shaking off her drowsiness, Sinead grabbed her keys, threw on a jacket, and bolted toward the lion enclosure.

As she arrived at the gates, she saw it—something large, dark, and fast, moving with unnatural agility. The shadowy figure vaulted over the enclosure wall with ease, slipping from the lion habitat to the gorilla zone before making a beeline for the panda enclosure.

Her breath hitched.

What the hell was that thing?!

Panic surged through her veins. Every instinct screamed at her to turn and run, to get as far away as possible. She glanced around frantically, mapping out possible escape routes.

But then, another thought hit her.

The pandas had just given birth not long ago.

Sinead hesitated—just for a second. Then she clenched her teeth, forcing herself to move.

She had to check.

Keeping her footsteps light, she followed the intruder. Her heart pounded against her ribs as she peeked around the corner, just in time to see the shadowy figure slip inside the panda nursery.

Her fingers trembled as she reached for the radio on her belt.

This was bad.

She needed to call security—now.

Sinead fumbled for her phone, her fingers trembling as she scrolled through her contact list. Twice, she pressed the wrong number due to how badly her hands were shaking.

Finally, she found the night security office's number. Just as she was about to dial, the shadowy figure emerged from the nursery, moving toward the panda lounging outside.

Then, the figure pulled something from its storage—some kind of bottle—and offered it to the panda.

Her breath caught in her throat.

Poison?!

Was this a lunatic trying to harm the animals?!

Her grip on the phone tightened, knuckles turning white.

But the next moment, she froze.

Because the "criminal" didn't harm the panda at all. Instead, he—petted it.

No, not just petted. He was thoroughly enjoying himself, running his hands through the thick fur, massaging the soft rolls, and indulging in what was unmistakably a full-on panda-rua session.

Sinead was stunned.

She had spent six years working in this zoo, and she knew that technique. That was the perfect way to pet a panda! It was the exact same way she did it herself!

Was this guy seriously just here to cuddle a panda?!

A wave of relief washed over her, and she let out a breath she didn't even realize she was holding. She glanced at the phone in her hand, hesitating. Should she still call security?

After all, as someone who deeply understood the joy of petting pandas, she couldn't exactly blame him. If she had the chance, wouldn't she sneak in and do the same?

Before she could make a decision, two beams of white light ignited beneath the intruder's feet. Without making a sound, he rose into the night sky.

The sudden brightness stung her eyes, forcing her to squint. Through the glare, she caught a glimpse of something metallic, something armored—

A suit of steel.

Sinead's mind blanked.

…Iron Man?!

Did Iron Man just break into the zoo to cuddle pandas?!

Seaside Luxury Villa

Back at his home, Lemu carefully stored the collected panda blood sample in a cryogenic chamber.

Panda pregnancies typically lasted three to five months, but according to the calculations of the Great Sage, with modern cloning technology and optimal nutrient conditions, a lab-grown baby panda could be created in just over two months.

In another two to four weeks, the clone would grow its signature black-and-white fur. At that point, it would be soft, fluffy, and ready for cuddles.

Of course, he still needed to purchase a biogrowth pod and other cloning equipment. That was easy—he'd just have the Great Sage order everything from reputable biotech firms online.

Sprawled across his velvet-lined, ultra-luxurious, king-sized Simmons bed, Lemu hugged his pillow tightly. His eyes fluttered closed, a satisfied smile on his face.

In his mind, it wasn't a pillow in his arms.

It was a soft, chubby panda.

His dream of unlimited panda snuggles was finally within reach.

Lemu had one of the best nights of sleep in a long time. In his own home, in his own bed, he dreamed of being buried under a mountain of fluffy black-and-white pandas, their soft little paws pressing against him as they rolled around.

Soft… warm… fluffy…

Ssshaa~~

By the time he woke up, the afternoon sun was already high in the sky.

Alice was coming today.

Lemu got out of bed, freshened up, and waited at the front entrance of the villa. Before long, a white Mazda glided up the long, winding mountain driveway and came to a smooth stop in front of him.

The car door opened, and Alice stepped out. She was dressed just like last time—a simple white blouse, a pair of jeans, and golden hair cascading down her back, swaying lightly in the breeze.

"Good afternoon, Alice," Lemu greeted with a smile.

"Good afternoon~~ little Lemu," Alice replied in a playful tone. She took a small step forward and gave him a gentle hug, her voice carrying a hint of laughter. "I'm completely ready to take on my new role as your head maid. I can start working anytime."

She spoke with so much confidence that it almost felt like she had gone through some kind of elite maid training course.

Lemu chuckled, reaching out to take her hand. It was warm—a familiar warmth he hadn't felt in a while.

"Come with me. I'll show you around so you can get familiar with the place."

They started the tour, walking through the grand halls of the first and second floors. Lemu introduced the different rooms and their functions, explaining the layout as they went.

"…You can choose any of the guest bedrooms on the second floor as your own. Your main responsibilities will be light housekeeping and preparing meals. Everything else is managed by the villa's automated systems."

Alice remained calm and composed throughout the tour. Even though the villa was filled with extravagant luxuries and cutting-edge technology, she barely reacted, as if none of it surprised her.

That was, until they reached the second-floor main lounge.

There, standing in the corner of the room, was a humanoid mechanical construct— the temporary body of the Great Sage.

Alice's eyes widened slightly. She lifted a delicate hand to cover her mouth, a flicker of surprise breaking through her usually composed expression.

"This is…?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

She had noticed earlier that there wasn't a single other person in the villa besides Lemu. Yet now, the only 'person' she saw turned out to be this strange, metallic being.
