As the fight ended Mia found herself standing in clan leader's room, hearing something she couldn't understand and asked again, "Pardon brother but what did you just say"
Clan leader repeated himself and said, "the same thing you heard, Adolf is Christopher the second prince of the Bluesta Empire and he wants to marry you"
"Adolf..no Christopher is a prince that too from the very
Empire which we had bad blood for the past few decades. Did you just forget how those people from the Empire treated us? How did you even agree to him being here."
Mia couldn't believe her ears she didn't know how Adolf changed into Christopher and her brother's explanation was still echoing in her head, "you mean I am now marrying a prince and this bond will serve as an important pillar in bridging the gap that is building trust between Empire and the Tribe."
"Mia he helped us in escaping a crisis, one that could have erased our existence keeping that in view, I think we can agree to his demand after all, all he wants from us is to be friends with him and don't forget the fact that I took him to a sacred side and made him take an oath, he Helped us in finding the traitor among us and now it's our turn to keep our end of the bargain if we back down from doing that it will send a wrong message and the result could be a conflict for the next few decades and apart from this I kept an important information secret, there's another guy involved in this and Christopher knows who that person is and without him, we will be left alone to face an enemy whose strengths and weakness are unknown, we will be without a clue and that man will escape the punishment." Braska said trying to appeal to her.
"What about other odds Brother?, you know helping him and becoming the Emporer is a very difficult task. Many lives will be lost in the process and we do not have much to gain from this are you still OK with that?" Mia asked trying to understand braska's thoughts.
"I know it's difficult and I know many lives could be lost in the process but mia I was chosen for the position of clan leader not only to think about the present but also to plan a protected future as well and I think Christopher is the best shot we could have, if he becomes the emperor then our people will treated with respect and you will be our hope."
"Does it have to be me brother? Because I don't think I'm that. Beautiful for him to choose me from all the women within the clan." Mia asked trying to escape the forced bond as someone who lived all her life freely it was unacceptable for her to be bound to those foolish customs of the empire and not to mention their patriarchal society.
"I Don't know why he chose you either, but I believe It's because you're the strongest women in the clan and the reason he forged relations with us is majorly because of our military might and you being the most powerful woman among those who are in their breeding period and unmarried ofcourse is the best choice he could have and he took it"
Braska gave the most logical answer for Christopher's request.
"If this is for the clan then I will do it. But remember brother, if he backs away from the deal or doesn't reveal the name of the person responsible for creating this mess then this deal would be swiftly forgotten and I won't back down from harming him and that couldn't change even if he were to become my husband."
Mia said making her own plans.
"I believe he wouldn't and seeing him in person. I believe he is someone who believes in making deals and wouldn't resort to backstabbing. Your marriage will take place tomorrow see you then."
"Tomorrow? why tomorrow brother? why so suddenly? And Doesn't this seem a bit sketchy?" Asked mia , trying to understand the reasons behind the urgency.
The clan leader could only sign at her suspicious thinking and share his thoughts honestly, "No it's not. I don't know why it has to be so exactly either but Christopher seems to have something important going on and he requested this I didn't find anything odd with it, as you know he is a prince and is currently in conflict with the first prince and his absence from the Empire for a longer period of time might leave him in a disadvantageous position."
