Jude's voice cut through the air the moment he suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. His sharp tone made Sophia instinctively lower her gaze, following his words to the subject of discussion. And then, in that split second, the realization hit her like a wave—she had lost the phone.
Her heart clenched as she slowly lifted her head, her eyes locking onto Jude's. A deep breath steadied her, and then, with an almost serene calmness, she shook her head.
