[ Chapter IX (9): "ABOUT THE STUDENTS' FUTURE" ]

 [ MESSENGER OWL (BROWN): 10 POINTS ]

When Felix transmigrated into this godforsaken world without prompt, without notice, and without his consent. Felix didn't just get pissed by this; I mean, he had to fight dinosaurs here and there— supposed extinct gigantic prehistoric monsters some having feathers covered most of their body, which confused him.

No, other than that, he was gifted with a golden finger. A System. One that isn't subservient to him, but at the very least works alongside him; only appearing whenever he needs it.

But one of the key features that he can manipulate within the System is the shop aspect of it, alongside building, alongside learning new abilities— all of this aspect needing money in return, which is called points.

These said points can be earned through teaching students, killing monsters, or by doing the odd jobs that the System throws at him daily— kill a dinosaur, adopt a pet, do a favor for one of your school faculty members.

It is weird. But at the very least, he earns enough money through that... But it isn't enough for his vision, as he looks in front of him at the floating text written eloquently; [ WALLET: 752.7 POINTS ] with it showing his current balance through doing odd jobs that the System threw at him.

And in seeing how expensive a normal messenger Owl is, he slightly broke down in tears inside; panicking. Calculating inside his head, Felix tried to calculate the expenses that he'll need to pay.

First, the building of the Hogwarts Express, for the students to be safe in their travels. He has already gone and saw how much one industrial albeit rigid train is, and it'll cost him about 150 Points... It hurts, but at the very least it's bearable.

Second, the future students necessities i.e food, school supplies, wand, cauldrons, and even robes. He calculated the cost and for each one it'll thankfully just be about... Shit, he's gonna be broke— approximately about 35 each for each student.

10 Points for specialized wands that have wood types and different types of cores that range from Dragon Heartstring to Veela's Hair, weird-weird, same goes to the wood types, it ranges from normal to absurd, and cute— cherry blossom.

15 Points for wizards/witches robe, enchanted with Extension Charm that even Felix's bum ass stolen suit doesn't have... Did he say stolen? He was joking. Those robes have Cooling Charm, Heating Charm, and even some Protective Spell... Huh...?!

Felix who's a Headmaster i.e a faculty tried buying one of these, and he did, but due to magic and some weird nonsense he couldn't wear it; he can touch it, but not wear it, so now he has a wizard robe that'll adjust itself to a student's body type somewhere in his office, he doesn't remember where.

5 Points for enchanted gloves that are both fire resistant and durable. 5 for a cauldron that is very durable and fit for students— he'll need this one especially because he's the Professor of Potions for the children. Yada yada, etc, etc.

Overall he calculated about 35 Points is needed for children, at this state, he'll be broke. He has no steady income of Points besides the unreliable System Daily Tasks, at this state he'll disappoint and ruin many children's fantasies of being a wizard or witch, ruining their fun...

And that's bad. So he thought of different ways and realized one alternative. He can cut down the prices for each student's supplies by about more than half if he uses the bland alternative. I.e bland wand, bland robes, bland globes, and bland cauldron.

The wands wouldn't have core or specialized wood types that fit for each individual student, but at the very least it'll work and they could use it as a conductor for casting spells.

The robes wouldn't have fancy functions, but it'll still be a robe, and would still retain the adjusting function; about 2 Points for each. The gloves and the cauldrons also. But at the very least he wouldn't be going broke before school starts.

He calculated that it'll be about 10 Points for each student, 5 for a bland wand, 2 for a bland robe, 2 for a bland glove, and 1 for a bland cauldron.

Currently the Quill of Admittance and Book of Acceptance cap, and stopped writing when it got to exactly about 150 fit wizards and witches' students names, all in the age of 10 to 13.

All throughout the world, not bothered at all about Felix's dismay that he had to travel from one country to another, and for Felix to preach about the good word, for two weeks, to about 43 families most having not believed him at the first.

Some even pulled out a weapon on him, with some families not understanding english... Thankfully he found a way out. So due to limitations, about 8 of the families unright disagree, 23 unsure and would think about it, and about 10 are confirmed to admit their children into Hogwarts.

Now, he hasn't met or even visited the other 107 other families of the students listed up there. He has been out for about two weeks, and he has only met 43 families, He has been working for 24/7 not having slept in most times, and he is still short about 2/3rds type of short.

So he went home, back to Hogwarts and found another way of doing it, Hogwarts Owls... That may hopefully earn the trust of the families and reassured them... He hopes.

Though he is still about... 750 Points short even if he spent everything on school supplies, he highly doubts he'll fall short. He has about a month before school starts, and he can just pray to the machine gods, or whoever deity out there that gives him quests, to give him high paying once and not garbage type of quests.

He wouldn't mind hunting down a pack of Wolves for a measly 50 Points if that's all it needs for him to fulfill 5 eager students dream. And he'll know, he has been waiting outside when he was 11 years-old back in his home world, when he found out about Harry Potter and even magic.

Ultimately when that despair of not being able to do magic seeped in, he cried really. But steeled his nerves and wrote fictional books instead, in his own way wielding magic or something along those lines.

But to this children, it is different. They can wield magic, and they are living on the Detective Comics Universe i.e DC wherein flying humanoid insects attack earth for a box, wherein in some specialized city there'll be crimes that are too vile for him to speak about; now that's a problem.

Thankfully none of that happened yet. Some key details he knows of about the Detective Comics Universe not setting in yet. The Waynes are alive, there is no Kansas boy flying here and there, no island of immortal demigoddess humans revealed yet.

Magic only known as folklore, criminals, bigshots still not showing themselves. Which is great, because it means there is time to prevent them...

Sadly he knows little about the Detective Comics Universe, not as much as compared to him knowing everything about the Harry Potter Universe.

But for now, he'll need to get a move-on. Even though he hates being in this world, being a neighbor to a dangerous universe that is soon to explode; time when it'll happen not known to him yet, sure he hates being here, forced to be a Headmaster.

But hey, at least he can wield magic. He has a System, and he gets to meet fictional characters that he only knows of through the pages of a book. To say that he is ungrateful is a low blow, he is, but higher than that. But even though he is gifted with this power, he still doesn't want this type of responsibility— damn, give this to someone else, not me!

He is forced here, have to do this. He has the power, so at the very least, with reluctance he'll fulfill the wishes of some children before the world goes to hell... And hopefully prevent the said world from going to hell— just like how in other versions of Detective Comics it'll either be hell... Or worse than literal hell, writer's pick, nonetheless it'll be bad for the inhabitants.

 [ MESSENGER OWL (BROWN): 10 POINTS ]

He looked up, done with his required daily contemplation on life before ultimately clicking the floating text about 21 times. I.e.210 Points quickly draining from his wallet.

But in equal exchange to that, 21 majestic brown feathered Owls appeared in front of him from thin air, a pouch hanging to their side.

No bright light. No extravagant void shifting in front of him. Just like Apparation, they appeared in front of him, minus the cracking noises. Nothing of that happened and instead, they're just there.

 Like... Like magi- we know!

He wants to strangle the Owls, these expensive things, really; cook one even, stewed, fried, whatever is most hurtful to them. But he stopped himself in realizing he doesn't hurt non-hostile animals, especially intelligent and expensive ones.

He broke anyways and wouldn't want to waste a single more Points in buying another one. So he points at the stack of Hogwarts Letter on the side, and ordered them; [ "Deliver these letters, you expensive Owls." ]

In how they'll do such job is their problem— either by crook, or by hook. Whatever, that's their problem now, not his.
