Chapter 307 - Chapter 307: Ginji Hatake

The door to the delivery room opened slightly.

Kawakaze couldn't wait and immediately ran over. In no time, the area around him was packed with people.

"Tsunade is fine, and this is your son," Mito said, opening the door just a crack—it wasn't convenient to open it fully yet.

"It's good that she's fine. He's so cute."

Although Kawakaze couldn't see clearly through the small gap, he still praised the baby. It was his son—how could he not be cute?

"Tsunade told you to come in," Mito added. "Anbu can withdraw; the others will need to wait a bit longer."

She opened the door a little wider, just enough for Kawakaze to squeeze through. Without hesitation, he slipped inside.

"I told you it would be fine. I'll handle the Anbu withdrawal," Sakumo said with a hearty laugh, giving Kawakaze a strong pat on the shoulder. He then turned and squeezed his way out.

"Congratulations, Sensei!"

"Congratulations, brother-in-law!"

A group of young teenagers chimed in, smiling and offering their congratulations. They were genuinely happy—starting today, they had one more family member.

"Uncle, Uncle! Can I go in and see my little brother?" Kakashi asked restlessly, squirming in Nayuki's arms.

"You can see him later. We'll wait for your uncle outside," Nayuki replied gently. She understood that it might not be convenient inside just yet. Besides, Kakashi, though young, was still a boy.

"Okay then," Kakashi agreed obediently, though his face showed his disappointment.

"Wait for your uncle to carry your little brother out," Kawakaze said, pinching Kakashi's nose before slipping through the door.

Bang!

The delivery room door closed firmly behind him. The people outside began to disperse, returning to their previous spots. However, the atmosphere had completely changed. Smiles lit up everyone's faces, and the laughter outside the delivery room was constant.

Sakumo withdrew the Anbu as promised and returned to sit next to Nayuki. He had no intention of leaving—he wanted to wait for Kawakaze to head home together.

"Let me hold him," Kawakaze said as he entered, immediately reaching out his hands, unconcerned about whether Mito approved or not.

"I didn't realize you knew how to hold a baby," Mito remarked, watching Kawakaze, whose gaze seemed glued to the baby in her arms.

"It's fine; I'm used to holding Kakashi," Kawakaze replied without even looking up, his attention completely on his son.

Strangely enough, the moment the child was in Kawakaze's arms, he began to smile. The baby reached out a tiny hand, trying to touch Kawakaze's face.

"No wonder he's yours," Mito said with a hint of envy, pointing out how the baby hadn't smiled even once while she was holding him.

"Haha~"

Kawakaze brought his face closer to the little hand, his laughter growing even brighter.

"Come here," Tsunade called, now done tidying herself and sitting on the bed while putting on her trousers.

"I'm coming, my dear wife. You've worked hard," Kawakaze said, unbothered by the others in the room, as he hurried over to her.

"Look at the baby's eyes—they look just like yours," he added, sitting down beside her and pointing at the baby's eyes.

"Really? I haven't looked closely yet."

Tsunade leaned in after finishing with her trousers to examine the baby.

"It's truly enviable," Mito said softly.

Watching the warm scene of the family of three, Mito was reminded of when she had given birth to Tsunade's father. Hashirama had pointed at their child and spoken to her in the same way back then.

Happiness was being passed down, and with this moment, she felt no regrets in her life.

"Have you decided on a name for the baby?" Tsunade asked, looking at Kawakaze. They had been debating this just last night.

"Yes, we have. We'll call him Ginji Hatake," Kawakaze replied, nodding as he said the name they had finally chosen.

"Okay, that's not bad. Do you like the name your father gave you, little Ginji?"

Tsunade held up a finger and gently tapped her son's nose, her tone uncharacteristically soft.

"Doesn't it sound nice?" Kawakaze asked, his eyes filled with admiration as he glanced at Tsunade, then at Ginji.

After a while of affectionate moments, Mito, feeling the stifling air in the maternity ward, grew a little impatient.

"Enough of that. If we're not staying for admission, let's go home. In a few hours, the baby will be ready to nurse."

Mito wasn't sure if Tsunade had milk yet, but she herself had started nursing not long after giving birth.

"I know, Grandma. Let's go home," Tsunade said casually, as if nothing had happened. She stood up from the bed and began preparing to leave.

"Don't you want to stay for a couple more days?" Kawakaze asked, still a bit concerned that leaving so soon after giving birth might be too rushed.

"Stay my ass. I'm in perfect shape. Hand over the baby," Tsunade said firmly. To prove her point, she snatched Ginji from Kawakaze's arms and strode briskly toward the maternity ward door.

"I really can't do anything about you," Kawakaze said with a wry smile, shaking his head.

"Thank you, Counselor Koharu, and everyone else," Kawakaze said, addressing the medical staff in the delivery room. "One red envelope each—no need to decline."

He pulled out a stack of red envelopes from his pocket and personally handed one to each of the staff, ensuring they were properly thanked. He clearly understood the importance of maintaining good relationships.

"Then we won't be polite. Congratulations, Lord Kawakaze," everyone said with a smile as they accepted the red envelopes. The amount didn't matter—it was a happy occasion and a gesture of good luck.

"Lord Kawakaze, I'll be heading back now," Koharu Utatane said, slipping the red envelope into her pocket and bidding farewell.

"Go ahead. Thank you so much for all your help today," Kawakaze replied sincerely.

Although Koharu had mostly played the role of a cheerleader, Kawakaze was genuinely grateful to her.

"It was no trouble at all. I didn't help much anyway," Koharu said modestly, though she couldn't help feeling a rare sense of satisfaction—something she never experienced with the usual antics of her peers like Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"I'll treat you all to dinner sometime. Take care," Kawakaze added, noticing that Tsunade was already reaching for the delivery room door.

"Alright, let's tidy up," Koharu said, directing the nurses to clean the delivery room.

Kawakaze quickly caught up with Tsunade, standing behind her alongside Mito. Tsunade was the star of the moment, and Kawakaze had no intention of stealing her spotlight.

As the door opened, Tsunade stepped out first and was immediately surrounded by the waiting crowd.

Mito and Kawakaze found themselves momentarily left on the sidelines.

"Sister, let me hold my nephew!" Nawaki said, rushing forward with his hands eagerly outstretched.

"You know how to hold a baby? Save it," Misaki said, patting him on the back and warning him not to scare the baby into crying.

"Can I at least have a look?"

If Tsunade had said that to him, Nawaki might have argued back—though he would've likely ended up beaten. But with Misaki, he didn't dare. He simply looked pitiful, as if all the fight had left him.

"Brother, brother," Kakashi called out excitedly from Nayuki's arms, leaning forward to look at Ginji. His face lit up as he carefully examined the baby.

"Your little brother has the same hair color as you."

Sakumo smiled and stroked Kakashi's head. "The Hatake Clan hair color is beautiful," he said warmly.

"Okay, stop crowding around," Nayuki said, stepping in to rescue Tsunade from the overwhelming attention. "Let's go home."

"Yes, let's go home first," Kawakaze agreed, stepping forward to gently separate everyone.

"Ginji, Mommy will take you home," Tsunade said, leading the way as the group began their march toward the Hatake Clan residence.

Mito, who usually didn't visit the Hatake Clan residence often, naturally joined them this time. It was clear she'd have her hands full from now on.
