Darren's POV
"Do not touch me ever again. You fucking jumped off a mountain. You didn't run down or even let me use magic to control our descent. Were you trying to kill me?"
"If I had plans to kill you, you'd have died in my room back when you brandished your dagger."
That immediately shut him up. His face sunk, hands fell to his sides and feet stayed rooted to the spot.
"Now, we still have quite the journey. I need to carry you again because I can't let you slow me down. There's no time."
I picked him up quickly, swinging him under my arm with one move. I checked properly, making sure that I held him tight enough. It would be crazy to let him slip out of my grasp. He would really die this time.
I took a few steps forward, letting my feet tap the snow gently. The snow cover was quite thick, threatening to drag me into its delicious depths.
We were still meters away from the bottom of the mountain, but we stood on enough ground that I could make my way through the fog.
