Lucky and Traven went upstairs to get Baby Girl and take her outside. They had a lot to think about. They decided the clean mountain air would clear their heads, so they headed up the mountain with the puppy and a backpack . They found a good spot to stop after a short while, Baby Girl keeping a slow but steady pace. Except, of course, for her occasional stops to sniff something. One advantage of being a werewolf's dog was their understanding of things like the urge to sniff interesting smells.
They took few minutes to appreciate the beauty of the landscape in the moonlight. From their view high up the mountain, they could see all of the lights twinkling, like fireflies, in the small town below. These lands pulled at Lucky almost like a mate bond. She would protect this place, and it would protect her. She was beginning to grasp who she was, who she was meant to be.
