Not all Secret Realm Origens can be used on Spirit Masters, their effects differ based on the objects they materialize from.
The best of Secret Realm Origins are those of the 'Spirit Fruit' and 'Spiritual Medicine' types, both Spirit Masters and Artifact Spirits can absorb them.
The next best are the Refining Materials type, which can only be used by the Artifact Spirits and have no effect on Spirit Masters.
However, Xiao Zhan and Ye Youlong are bound by a Life and Death Contract, so this doesn't affect him much. If it were some other equal Contract, then only Artifact Spirits could enjoy such benefits.
But generally, if somebody really gets such good stuff, the Spirit Masters would probably scramble to form a Life and Death Contract with their Artifact Spirits.
