Spencer couldn't just sit by and watch her get bullied when he saw it happening.
"Tch..."
Spencer scratched the back of his head in irritation, turned to look in the direction of the Ghost House, then glanced at An Le, who was wiping her tears.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something to comfort her but found herself unable to speak.
Even if she could say something, it wouldn't be anything nice.
At last, she clenched her teeth and crossed her arms before saying,
"Alright, stop crying! I know, it was my fault!"
"..."
An Le, carrying the bag, looked at Spencer with a pitiful gaze.
But watched as Spencer turned her head away, very unwillingly opening and then closing her mouth.
Finally, as if squeezing the words out, she spoke in a whisper,
"I'm... I'm so... sorry..."
"Huh?"
An Le blinked, looking at Spencer who had turned her head back around.
"That's it! Just like that!"
After saying this with a flushed face, Spencer walked ahead with her arms crossed.
