A cyan-grey hand, about a zhang in size and as solid as a mountain rock, shimmered with circles of azure halos. It pinched the air until it boomed, trapping Taoist Li of Fulong Temple within a tiny space, the void incarcerating him.
Just a foot in front of Taoist Li Guanyi, a yellow mist condensed and formed into a rectangular yellow paper the height of a person. A radiant red hue started to spread upon it, and in the next moment, as if a brush were dancing serpentine, an intricate pattern emerged in one fluid breath.
This is called a "talisman," a Taoist scripture that records Heavenly Officials and summons Divine Officials to execute spells. By drawing different talismans, one could command Divine Generals, cast spells, and protect oneself.
This was Taoist Li of Fulong Temple's Tao Fruit. As the talisman materialized, a Protective Golden Light expanded outward from beneath him, barely holding off the tightening cyan-grey grip.
