Something is off, very off.
This is different from what the superpower had shown.
Xin Lin looked around but failed to find any trace of the Red Toad, feeling that something strange was afoot.
She had dived in at the right time and place in accordance with the scene she had seen through her superpower; logically, she should have found the Red Toad by now.
But where was the Red Toad?
Xin Lin settled on a large rock at the bottom of the pool and pondered.
(Stupid human, I'm right here.)
Below Xin Lin's feet, the "large rock" covered in green moss lazily examined her.
(I'm ignoring you, just ignoring you.)
The "large rock" couldn't even bother to move.
It was the spiritual beast, the Red Toad, which had just molted not long ago.
After shedding its Red Toad Shell, it needed to hibernate for a while, not eating or drinking. Unless its life was in danger, it would not move.
When Xin Lin had trespassed into the territory of the Red Toad, it had already noticed her.
