Hi, my name is Kayne. Like my name suggests, I'm a normal guy. Apart from my handsome face, I don't stand out at all, especially when I hide it all behind a big glass and a hood. Even in my family, I'm literally invisible. Try thinking about a family where your dad is the most sought-after engineer concerning nanotechnologies, your mother is the daughter of your country's current president, and your elder brother is regarded as the country's greatest future due to his above 200 IQ and a lot of awards he has received, which I don't care to mention.
Meanwhile, I'm 18 years old, a high school student. Academically, I am just above average; socially, I am below average. This is the story of how I became the most wanted vigilante by the government and the most idolized hero by the people. What a twist, right? LET'S GO!
It all started when my arrogant and obnoxious parents decided to conceive another child after successfully birthing a one in a million years genius child who at the age of 10 had two degrees, with an IQ of above 200.
Then my obnoxious parents trusting in their powerful gene believed that they couldn't birth anything less than their first child Ryan who was a wonder. You guessed right they where disappointed...
Everything still looked promising when I was just a baby. I was so "heavenly" that my parents were assured they had gotten it right again — my looks made them confident in their genetic calculations. But then, everything took an unexpected turn. I was diagnosed with Hypotonia, also known as floppy infant syndrome. My parents were shocked, left wondering where everything could have possibly gone wrong.
When I was ten I go to school in an automatic wheel chair. To be sincere it didn't start with disappointment,it started with pity, responsibility, then I became a liability,I was always an average student although my dad had given up on me,my mum thought that the reason for my mediocrity was due to my disability so she seriously went out of her way to help me get healed totally, probably due to her influence both politically and financially by the age of 12 you wouldn't know I once had Hypotonia.
As young as I was then,I loved my mum so much thinking she loved me due to the amount of care and interest she showed in me unlike my dad, until she changed completely on my 12th birthday, the change was so abrupt that till now I'm still shocked by her transition.
It was an afternoon,I had expected my mum would visit my room very early in the morning like usual to sing and wish me,but I didn't see her and it was already 2pm in the afternoon,I had a lot of thoughts,I thought 'maybe she came but I was sleeping' 'maybe she was stranded somewhere' 'is she alright'
I called her multiple times but she didn't pick"I know you're thinking'doesn't he have a friend?' but you can't blame someone who grew up with a disability,I naturally had low self esteem among others so my only friend was my mum. Then she came home she was with my dad and my brother who just came back from a union of "genius's" I looked at her with a questioning gaze then she sighed as if at her limit she blew up "Kayne why can't you just be like your father,I or your brother Imagine your dad just sealed off a billion dollar investment deal using his wits, your brother and his team just solved a world problem and I'm just coming from a meeting that is sustaining world peace, what are you doing.....Kayne?" Her words where more painful than years dealing with Hypotonia I stammered trying to talk "muuuummmy aaaaaare youuuuu...tired?"then she glared at me "Kayne I regret the day I decided to have you,I regret the day I decided it was your disability that tamed our exceptional gene in you"she was getting frantic at this point "I regret all the time spent with you, that could have been invested in something more productive" then she stormed off to her room my dad took a last look at me and sighed,he went after her.I was crying although I didn't release any sound but tears where practically gushing out of my eyes at this point, then I heard an arrogant voice"why are you crying?" he sighed then shook his head before continuing"you should learn how to expect less from people.the lesser you expect the lesser you're disappointed" he then smiled as if shocked by his exposition he said to himself"Ryan you're just so exceptional" then he also walked away not even sparing me a second look...
That was how it all began...
