"Since when did maids show such gratitude to their masters? It looks like you want another beating?"
Su Lanyi said as she walked toward the two of them, Lan'er trembling slightly upon seeing her.
"No-no-no… Young Mistress, you got it wrong, I w-was only here—"
Jiang Wei cut her off as he turned to Su Lanyi with a questioning look. "What are you doing here?"
"Why else would I be here? My husband tossed away his food. As a good wife… I must make sure he eats,"
Su Lanyi said as she then flashed a deadly glare at Lan'er.
"And as for you, you seem to love showing gratitude… I love that. You know what? From now on, you will work in the cooking department. Then you can have the chance to cook for the Young Master every day as a way to show your gratitude. What do you think?"
Su Lanyi smiled, her smile scary but actually the nicest she had ever been.
"Now leave!" she shouted as Lan'er nodded and bowed quickly before leaving.
With her gone, Su Lanyi then fixed her gaze on Jiang Wei, who still seemed confused at what had just happened. If he knew better, he would have said Su Lanyi was a bit kinder.
If she were her usual self, she would have tried to beat the hell out of Lan'er again.
Smiling, Su Lanyi stretched out the tray of food she held. "Here is your food. I got Chef Li to make another fresh one, better than the last."
Staring at the food, Jiang Wei frowned. "What exactly do you want, Su Lanyi? I told you I don't want to eat anything given by you… why don't you just listen!"
He was hesitant. There was no way he was going to let his guard down. He didn't know why the hell she was acting concerned about his health so suddenly, but he wasn't going to let her have her way.
Hearing his words, Su Lanyi frowned as he awaited her next move. She was either going to throw a tantrum or hit him, but instead, to his surprise… she took a chopstick and took a bite of the food on the tray.
She took each bite of the rice, meat, veggie soup, sauce, and fruits.
She gulped them all down and then looked at Jiang Wei, her eyes sharp. "Did you see that? I just ate every single thing. If it was poisoned, then I guess I will die along with you."
She said, placing the chopsticks down, as Jiang Wei just stared at her, speechless at her sudden actions.
"Listen, I didn't come here for a fight. I just came here to apologize for not giving you food for three days, and as I promise, from now on, I'll deliver your food to you myself so you won't ever starve for a single day."
She said as Jiang Wei frowned. "And why the hell do you want to do that? If you think giving me food and filling my belly will get you your annulment, then forget about it."
He said, turning around as Su Lanyi's next words stopped him. "I'm not getting an annulment."
"I won't file for annulment anymore. I don't want to leave. I want to stay with you, Jiang Wei."
She said, as Jiang Wei turned back to look at her, shocked but still composed.
"Who are you trying to fool here, Su Lanyi? I advise you to stop whatever you're trying to do because it won't take you anywhere," he warned.
"I've already told you, if you don't believe me then it's your business… all I know is I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to stay here by your side."
Walking closer to him, she placed her hands on her waist as she announced, "By the end of today, all my things will be brought here… from now on, you and I will live in this residence, like the husband and wife that we are."
"Huh? Why do you suddenly want to live here?"
"I've been thinking, staying at the outer house isn't good. After all, you are my husband. I have to be living nearer to you in order to take care of you. Today, all the maids and servants will come here. This residence is so gloomy and boring… I'll shape it up and make it more lively and fun."
She smiled as Jiang Wei just turned around. "Do as you please."
And with that, he left as Su Lanyi just sighed. She never knew how stubborn her husband was until now, but she found it cute.
After she left, Jiang Wei went back to his chamber as he placed the tray of food on a table, taking the chopsticks as he took a bite of the food.
It was very delicious, and from one bite, he took another until he finished the entire bowl of rice.
The food made him think of Su Lanyi and what had just happened. He didn't know why, but there was surely something different about her.
Just then, Du Lan walked in as he bowed slightly. "Reporting to Young Master, nothing strange seemed to happen to the Young Mistress. She just had her afternoon sleep as usual and woke up, nothing else out of the ordinary."
Du Lan said as Jiang Wei nodded. He had asked Du Lan to investigate Su Lanyi and find out if anything had happened to her that resulted in her sudden change of character.
"Hmm… keep an eye on her. If anything occurs, let me know… also, she said she is moving to the Pond Residence tonight. Help them with the move… she will stay at the palace next to mine."
He instructed as Du Lan nodded and made his way out.

Later that day, all of Su Lanyi's belongings were moved to the Pond Residence.
The maids, servants, and chefs followed her as well, and the Pond Residence—which was once a quiet and abandoned palace similar to that of a graveyard—was now booming with maids and noise, something Jiang Wei wasn't used to.
But he better be ready, for his new wife was going to cloud his boring life with so much drama.
