I looked over at the new comers, plus Poseidon, who was standing near my bar door, and their auras made it apparent that they were gods, bigs ones on par with Poseidon, one of the Olympians. Each of them also had a distinct feel to each of them. One felt like the smoke of the hearth, and the others like chocolate and.... Romain lettuce? Of course the others had their own feels, with one that was particularly like grapes and dolphins being the most concerning.
"Welcome back Poseidon! I hope your bringing me new guest" I said in a jolly tone, hoping to put the divine customers at ease. Their auras were rather frightning, except for the one in a shawl, her's was more comforting like a warm flame enveloping my body. "Hey Thomas, I thought I would bring some of my family over" said Poseidon as he gave a good and hearty laugh, like the roaring of the seas.
"Of course, thank you for the future business" I said as I gestured them to the bar and had them take a seat. "What can I get you guys to drink?" I asked them. Some answered wine, others wanted harder liquors like vodka, and some wanted sodas and virgin mary's, which was ordered by the Goddess of the Hearth, Hestia.
"So, what brings some of the most esteemed gods here?" I asked, wondering what was going on. "Well, Poseidon told us about you and your building, and I wanted to see it as it had no essence of my hearth" said Hestia as she took a drink of her virgin Mary. "No essence of your hearth?" I said, confused by what she meant.
"Every building on Olympus has a hearth infused with my essence, every hearth made I have control of and is tied to me" she said. "Your building wasn't infused with a hearth or my essence so I was curious" said Hestia. "So, do I need to install one?" I asked her as she looked at me and said "If you want, cause I feel like your building isn't in our jurisdiction to control" said Hestia. "It isn't, its under his" said Poseidon, and he had a smirk as if he knew some horrible secret, which was probably the multiverse thing.
"I smell secrets!" screamed the one known as Aphrodite. "Smell secrets?" I said to her as she explained to me something. "A little ability I made because I love gossip! It helps me find some juicy tea!" she said in a voice that sounded pleasant and grating."Okay" I said to placate her and explained the function of the bar, and suffice to say, the gods were shocked at the revelation.
"Really, the multiverse?" said Aphrodite as she looked astonished while Hestia and Dionysus was unfazed by the news. "Are you guys not shocked about it?" I asked as I was genuinely astonished about their lack of passivity. "While we have knowledge and theory of 'other worlds' it isn't something we actively worry about since nothing from other worlds comes to us" said Dionysus. "Then why is she acting like its a big discovery?" I asked as Dionysus explained "she likes to be dramatic".
"Hey, don't ruin the fun!" she shouted as she drunk her daquery. I sighed and wondered if I really wanted to deal with the gods. An idea did form in my head though, wondering if maybe I could take advantage of it. using my powers over this space, I modeled a small altar with mini statues of the gods along with their divine names engraved upon it. Behind the altar was a hearth, one I made for Hestia.
"Would you like to imbue your sacred fire?" I asked her as she looked on with astonishment. Her eyes seemed wide in surprise as she looked at a statue as she strode over to the newly built altar. "Is that... a statue of me?" she asked, her eyes locked with the statue which seemed perfectly accurate to her.
"Yeah, don't you have one?" I asked her. "I only had a few specific temples, but the hearth was always my form, my worship. But a statue in my honor, especially in this day and age? I feel happy, surprise, and joyous" she said with a low voice as I saw tears leave her eyes. I saw Poseiodn and the other gods look uncomfortable.
"Sorry" I said to her and she wiped her tears. "No its fine, its just a bit emotional for me" said Hestia as she walked up to the hearth and I felt something press upon this space, as did the other customers who were in the bar. Myne was looking dead center at Hestia along with the others as she began to invoke her authority as a divinity.
The room felt licked by a soft warmness, a comfortable flame that eminated from her as she uttered an incantation.
Fire, and inexhaustible flame of the heart
Eternal flame, flame of the soul and home
Eternal flux is my blood, the flame my heart and body
Here to you I give my flame
My essence I divulge to the flame
For I am the flame, the hearth, the goddess over the sacred flux of creation!
-Chaste Flux: The hearth is born and blessed
Then, it appeared, a sacred flame created from the divinity of the goddess of the hearth and Eternal flux, the flames of Olympus. As the flames congealed and conceived itself onto the hearth, the room was permeated with a sacred energy I couldn't trace nor even understand as Selena was talking to me.
'Master, you like to analyse the phenomena for recreation?' she asked me with telepathy as I gave her the permission to succeed as I felt her powers slip over the space and began analyzing the fire and the energy in the air for some later use. "Is this what its like to see the gods in action?" asked someone I didn't think would come back here. Sylvester along with Ferdinand entered the hall seemingly as the spectacle begun.
"Man, I wish our gods wood come down here once in a while" said Sylvester as Ferdinand shot him a look. "I'm pretty sure you saw one at the academy" he said as he had a look as if he thought Sylvester was stupid, which he might have been in a certain respect. But he was the arch duke, so some respect is due.
"So, that was the academy" said Sylvester as he sat down at an available bar seat along with the divine guests, and I wondered about his sanity in some aspects. I handed him a drink that was a variant of mead, with a more cinnamon flavor added to it. It was one that smelt alright, though the taste I didn't know of.
"Woah, that's strong!" said Sylvester after he took a swig of the mead. He looked excited and somewhat fanatic about he new liquor. I handed him some more, making sure the alcohol wont make him drunk through manipulating their properties. It was something I always did to make sure everybody could get on with their daily life.
"So, what's been going on?" I asked Sylvester. "Well, there's political games and news of Mynes inventions have been circulating around noble society" said Sylvester as he took a sip. "Of course, there's winter prep and the church is having their dedication ceremony right now right?" he said as he looked towards Ferdinand.
"Yes, the dedication ritual is closing in and we hope for some good amount of mana this year" said Ferdinand who was drinking enchanted water. He was not much of a drinker outside of ceremony, and he was a responsible man, and the minder of the archduke of Ehrenfest Sylvester, his wild and irresponsible brother. I pitied him considering his responsibility but what can one do? Sylvester needed a minder, and Ferdinand was the best pick for the role.
After conversation, I went over to the newly made altar and heart, where the flames made by Hestia were burning, bright and calming. I had something in my hand I grabbed from under the counter and set it on the altar as I clasped my hands and prayed. "Oh gods, I pray to thee, bless thy establishment and my patrons. Let your grace surround us and protect us from the dangers to come" I prayed and I threw my offering of the herb of immortality in the fire as a swirl of energy was beginning to manifest.
It began to spread from the fires, the same energy which was apart of its creation becoming agitated as a phenomenon spread through out the restaraunt. I smiled as I smelled something akin to mint and thought 'what interesting events'.
