Saffron City Pokémon Center
Tonight everyone is staying at the Pokémon Center.
It's a good thing that Saffron City is a big city and the Pokémon Center has enough high end rooms. Everyone is staying in one room each, and it's kind of like staying at the whole Pokémon Center.
It was a memorable night for Whitley. Tomorrow, she'll begin her own journey in the Kanto region. And there's more to traveling with Rope than simply correcting Whitley's thinking.
It's traveling with a trainer who has a great future, a great talent, a great background, and a trainer who is in a sense an elder.
Neither Professor Oak nor Professor Juniper is meant to be any kind of traveling companion.
Rather, they were mentors and disciples.
Rope could see that, naturally. Did she really need someone else for her own journey? Cynthia might be able to help a little. But what could Whitley do to help? Remind herself not to wander off?
And Rope had agreed to do it. There's still a question mark as to whether or not this will be a one-on-one mentorship. Rope's not sure, and Whitley doesn't realize it.
It had been a rare two days of rest for Degree and Lucian, just think of it, these two guys would have had to sleep until sunrise if they could have gotten over their biological clocks.
Juniper wasn't asleep yet. She was sprawled out on her desk, scribbling away. She was taking notes on what Rope had said today, dangerous as it was. But the quest for knowledge itself was a researcher's most essential thirst.
Professor Oak, on the other hand, was lying on his bed staring straight up at the ceiling. He now had a big feeling that his heart was in turmoil. After a long time, he whispered "Children and grandchildren have their own blessings" and then turned over to sleep.
As for Rope... tonight is an unforgettable day for him.
————————
"Hey, son! There's been a breakthrough at mom and dad's institute tonight, so they won't be coming home tonight. There's all the meals in the fridge, so watch yourself. Don't keep ordering takeout! It's not healthy!"
A bright, blunt voice came out of the earpiece of the cell phone.
Rope's hand was placed on the handle, his eyes staring straight at the game screen on the TV screen, and he replied carelessly, "Okay, okay, got it, you guys are the ones, don't eat instant noodles all the time, ordering takeout once doesn't take much time."
"Your dad I still need you to instruct!" Through the phone Rope can hear the flavor of blowing his beard and eyes.
But Rope didn't care, it wasn't the first or second time anyway. While giving the Charizard the command to shoot flames, he said in a bad mood, "I'm a college student now, so listen to me once in a while!"
"If you're a college student, you're not a kid... ahh, wife, take it easy, take it easy..."
Rope rolled his eyes, then switched Charizard to Wind Speed Dog, and fired off a shot of God's Speed. Blastoise on the opposite side of the room went down in response.
"Hey, son."
A gentle female voice that seemed to be from the south of the river came out of the receiver.
"Hey mom, I'm here!"
Rope looked across the room at the grass baboon (Rillaboom) who had replaced him with a face full of confusion.
Lost IQ.
"Son, in the refrigerator's freshness there's a beef bun that mom wrapped, and in the freezer there's a triple dumpling that was left uncooked after wrapping it the day before yesterday. You take care of it. Remember to make some garlic paste yourself, don't be so lazy."
"Okay, got it!" Rope said in a hurry. And then he met the grass baboon's face with a flash flame charge.
The grass baboon fell down.
"Okay! Mom's got nothing to worry about, your dad and I will have someone else bring food. Don't worry about us."
"Well okay, don't worry mom!"
"Uh, no more, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow!"
"Doo doo doo..."
Rope looked at the opposite side of the Garchomp slightly lost in thought and accidentally clicked Wild Charge, and then the opposite side was instantly hit by a Dragon Claw.
Rope's eyes widened as he watched his Arcanine's health points to zero...
"...Damn, a wizard? Isn't it obvious that you're going to get banned?"
Unbelievingly, Rope sent out Charizard, then just another Dragon Claw...
Sent out the bottom card Entei again...still just a Dragon Claw...
"%^%#&*"
Rope cursed and turned off the game. Hating to drop the switch to remove the hate.
What the hell!
Rope shook his head then got up and went to the kitchen to get ready to cook.
Rope, who lives in Magic City, has a car and a house, and has two busy parents.
He is currently attending college locally and is on summer vacation.
As a famous game anchor, Rope has no intention of going out to work. Every day on the fish to engage in a live broadcast, and then at home to play games, sleep, read books.
Rope's life is boring.
The phone rang again. Rope picked up the phone with a lazy face and said in a very sunny tone, "Which one?"
"Which, senior, it's me, Snow."
A shy voice came from the other end of the phone.
Rope searched his mind quickly for this person. Three seconds later, he said, "Oh! It's you! What's up? Is there something I can do for the anime club? Taking pictures? Or record a video?"
Rope was also a photographer. Very professional and a little known in the circle.
"No, no, no!" Snow on the other end of the phone denied it in a hurry.
"Is there something wrong then?" Rope asked suspiciously.
"Yes, yes, it's that we want to thank Senior for his help last time, so we're preparing to treat Senior to a meal." Snow's tone was tinged with shyness. A cacophony of chattering from the warblers also came over the phone.
Rope tugged at the corner of his mouth, then said, "No need schoolmates. There's no need to be polite, you guys paid for it last time. There's no reason to buy dinner again, and I've already started cooking on my side. I won't disturb your gathering. Say no more, my pot is about to get mushy!"
Said Rope and hung up the phone.
Rope yawned and muttered, "These little girls are really boring..." scratching his own head, Rope opened fire to cook.
————————
A dainty and cute looking girl hung up the phone with an aggravated beak.
The other little girls around her rushed to comfort her.
"It's fine, it's fine. Snow is so cute, senior must be really busy!"
"Right, right, Snow said he's cooking! You can ask him out next time when it's not meal time."
"That's right, and if I rejected you this time, it won't be easy for Senior to stall next time!"
Under the comfort of a group of sisters, Snow revealed a reluctant smile, then said, "Alright, alright, don't comfort me. Let's go eat!"
Saying that, she gave herself a cheering gesture, "This girl is going to turn her grief into food!"
So a group of little girls, laughing and joking, headed towards a nearby hot pot restaurant.
Rope, with a bun pinched in her hand, sat in a rocking chair, lazily basking in the sun on the balcony.
"Ah! Life is so good!"
