Pallet Town Oak Research Institute Backyard
The sun is just right for spring.
The breeze is blowing, the flowers and plants are bending over, and a group of tired Tauros are either lying on their backs curled up on the ground, sleeping. Or standing on the ground, nibbling the grass on the ground.
Not far away, a group of Vileplume and Bellossom came out of the forest with Gloom and Oddish to sunbathe and photosynthesize in the grass.
The warm sunlight shone on them, making them smile with comfort and contentment.
At the lake, the Squirtle family climbed out of the lake in twos and threes, nestling on the edge of the lake and rocks to bask in the warm sun.
In the lake, Magikarp and Goldeen fish leapt out of the water, the crystals looking polished and translucent here.
Thousands of assorted Pokémon live in this huge backyard, like a sanctuary.
The sound of jeeps breaks the peace between nature and the Pokémon. It fills the area with the smell of human fireworks.
The jeep left two ruts on the grass, the surrounding Pokémon seemed to be accustomed to the sound and the car, some raised their heads to take a look, some simply did not raise their heads.
Daisy sat in the car and scanned the Pokémon around her. She had a big smile on her face.
She knew every Pokémon here.
Growing up living with her grandfather, she had followed Professor Oak to do research and record keeping at an early age. More than that, she had a lot of fun with a bunch of Pokémon.
Looking back, she was still a bit scared when she first saw so many Pokémon. After all, in a sense, Pokémon had the ability to easily kill humans. So it was only natural that she would be scared.
However, she soon adapted to being around them. Slowly, she got to know more about Pokémon, the magical creatures.
So she was filled with love and longing for this magical creature. On the seat beside her, a Chansey was greeting the Pokémon that looked up at them from all around.
This was one of Daisy's companions. Though still helping her grandfather with various research and documentation, Daisy herself was still interested in coordinating trainers and the Magnificent Contest.
Rather, she was ready to become a Coordination Trainer.
Daisy walked along the predetermined path, this backyard was naturally natural, but there was also more than a little bit of planning that had been done artificially, after all, if it was really left to grow wild, then it would soon become a true wilderness.
That wouldn't be something that was and a place to conduct standardized research.
Piles of boulders that shouldn't have been there appeared on the road ahead.
Daisy shook her head helplessly. Then continued to drive towards the boulder pile.
Soon, Daisy reached the nearness of the boulder pile and she stopped the car.
Getting out of the car she looked helplessly at an Onix that had blocked her path.
"Hey Onix, you're doing it again!"
Daisy shouted.
The pile of boulders in the road began to shake, a round boulder rolled and began to move, but had no intention of falling at all.
Chansey took small steps towards Daisy, and looked at Onix who had already completed the transformation with a fierce look.
Onix looked at Daisy, who had a helpless look on her face, and Chansey, who had a slightly chastising look on her face, and a pleasing smile appeared on her face.
Daisy was naturally even more helpless as she looked at the familiar smile.
"Glutton, can't you honestly wait for a feeding? Every time, you have to come here to block the way for food!"
Daisy said complaining words on her mouth, but she still naturally pulled out a box of Pokéblock from the small satchel she had in her body money.
The quantity wasn't much, but it was already enough to eat.
Onix beamed, letting out a barbell-like laugh.
It then lowered its head and took the box of Pokéblock into its mouth, but made no move to chew or swallow.
It nodded at Daisy, then waved its tail and rushed off towards the area where the rock-based Pokémon lived in the distance.
"Don't let the little Onix eat too much, overnutrition is not good!"
Daisy instructed again as she looked at the far away Onix.
Onix waved his tail again signaling that she didn't need to worry.
Daisy shook her head helplessly.
The Institute would make some generic Pokéblocks for all the Pokémon of each lineage, but the amount would definitely not be very large, and more food would definitely still have to be found by them.
This was especially true for the Rock Pokémon, because generally speaking, their recipes were all kinds of ores, and although Pokéblock was tasty to them and could provide them with energy, it didn't help them much in terms of strength enhancement and physique enhancement.
Therefore, the Institute seldom provides Pokéblock to rock Pokémon, and it is mostly used to satisfy their cravings once in a while. However, that Onix's child seems to like Pokéblock especially, so Onix simply came here every week to block Daisy, at first he didn't know what it meant, and scared Daisy a bit.
But then she realized what it wanted, and Daisy brought it a box of Pokéblock every time, telling it not to give too much to the kid, after all, rock Pokémon don't lack energy and nutrients. Further supplementation would instead be detrimental to Onix's growth.
As for why the Institute wasn't allowed to put more food over there, it was simple, just like what was said earlier. This Onix was just an example. Other rock-based Pokémon and even other Onix were not very interested in Pokéblocks, especially when there were mines around. Equipping them with more Pokéblock was not conducive to their growth.
Daisy shook her head, then stroked Chansey's head beside her and said, "Alright, let's go back. Just go to the rocky area in a couple days to check on Onix."
"Chansey!" Chansey nodded and then smiled weakly at Daisy.
Daisy stroked her head again, then walked over in the direction of the car.
Halfway there, the intercom went off.
"Hello, hello, is Daisy there?"
Professor Oak's voice came over the intercom in front of her.
"Yes, Grandpa. What's wrong?" Daisy asked as she picked up the intercom.
"Why don't you go to the northeast corner where the forest meets the meadow, there's a very interesting person there!"
Professor Oak's tone was tinged with excitement and surprise, as if he had found something new to study.
"Er, well, Grandpa, but... I remember that it's the habitat of Ekans and Arboks, right? Is that guy really okay with that?"
Daisy asked doubtfully.
"No problem, but you'll have to hurry, it'll soon be time for a large number of Arboks to go out to feed. That boy is still passed out somewhere!"
"Okay, I'll be right there."
Daisy flew into her car and then drove towards the location that Professor Oak had mentioned.
At this point in time, Daisy didn't know how the boy she brought back would cause her trouble in the future.
One could only say... unfortunate fate.
