The elegant archer let out a low, long sigh that would've blown away sand if they had been somewhere where there was sand, after that his golden eyes began growing a bit wider once more, seemingly ever so slightly afraid, it seemed like they weren't going to tell Cades good news.
"I came here from one of those five-sided temple islands that are everywhere, the island was connected to three chains, the one I came from goes along a few others, but ironically it ends in a well... end, you know when I first arrived here I though that these chains endlessly extended onwards, but no, the chains are all kind of weird in their placement. Some islands have only one chain connecting them, others have none, others have two, those are basically just like the link that these chains are made of, just absolutely humongous in size, aren't they ?"
It was fairly obvious that the archer was trying to talk around the topic, seemingly still nervous, scared of saying what he was going to say, of saying something that might make Cades angry, because no matter how tough he played himself he was still nervous, tense because of the seemingly never-ending hungry gaze belonging to the being sitting in front of him, the gaze that rarely ever seemed to waver.
But nevertheless he continued in his tale.
"Well, anyways the Island before that was brimming with countless monsters, each of them resembling a worm, about one-and-a-half times as big as you are actually, they were pink, fleshy and with great resistance to almost anything, but the most important part of them was that they were.. hungry, they devoured everything and that made me realize something."
Cades looked at the archer, expecting him to answer but almost already knowing what the answer would entail, the archer probably knew the way, the only way that was possible right now, not the way he came from, no another way, the way that he had mentioned, the temple island with three chains connected to it.
These temples seemed to work as interconnecting points to travel across the chains, so in Cades opinion it stood to reason that that chain would lead them to somewhere, added to that they were probably already closer to the island that the archer had come from than the island he had come from because of the simple fact that the archer had run away, back to his own island and Cades and followed him, the archer would probably tell him about that, but first he seemingly wanted to talk about the islands specifically.
And truly the archer, slowly moving from one side to the others, swinging in nervosity, scared of what Cades would react to the worse, but simply saying it, he simply continued, packing his dreaded message to the end of his endlessly long tirade.
"This place was made to imprison threats, whether it be those worm-like creatures that resided on the last island I was on, they would probably be able to rip apart entire continents, devouring them into their huge, fleshy maws, ripping apart all of the stone in the process, whether it be one of those islands with the blade-like grass that spreads so quickly, that grass which is truly terrifying, the grass that spreads to other islands within just a few hours when they are aligned, at least that's the rate I was able to find out when I accidentally brough a tiny seedling of the grass towards another island. I've got no ideas about the temples but they probably hide something, or maybe they were here since before our imprisoners used this place as a prison.."
The archer sighed one last time, throwing his head back, supporting himself with his hands, to stop himself from falling off of the endless onyx chain, something that he wouldn't have anyways, and finally started talking again, now with something that Cades assumed to be a grave tone but more so resembled a incredibly high-pitched gurgling sound.
"I don't know a way out of here. But I know that we have to work together to get out of here, I propose that we go towards the nearest island, recuperate and then, since I've already been there, go to the only chain that I haven't explore yet, well... excluding the one that you have presumably explored."
Only the first part was in the high-pitched gurgling language that he talked in, but the second part on the other hand, that one was almost without gurgling.
Now that Cades thought about it, that gurgling was annoying, he hated the sound of that, it was disgusting, and added to that he didn't understand the rules behind the gurgling noises one bit, at one point it is used to emphasize something, on the other side also the talk away from something.. he thought.. but he wasn't certain.
But that wasn't important right now, no, right now he had to start thinking, he knew that he would accept the deal, he was undoubtably going to do so, but for now he would have to affirm.
Cades nodded, and without talking anymore the two stood up and started walking ahead, the elegant archer in the front where Cades could easily stop him from throwing an attack behind him or running away, not that he would be able to run away in such a situation.
And soon, within just a few hours they arrived at the temple, climbing atop the rocky exterior of the relatively small island and soon after resting a bit, the archer posed a question towards Cades.
"Don't you want to go inside and rest ?"
Absolutely not, he was worried that the silver would once again drill into his body but before he could say so, well, in other words, but before he could do so his breathing quickened and his eyes widened as he saw a faint silver glow emanating from the heavy stone doors that closed the five-sided temple.
Out of those seemingly air-tight doors there streamed a long line of silver, like a small river that spread out as it came closer and closer to cades.
