The Mortal Realm, in the Prince of Hui's Manor.
Prince of Hui sat in the main hall, occupying the head seat. His slightly plump face still bore traces of weariness. Though he appeared amiable, his words carried a sharp undertone.
"It's truly troublesome for Xie young master to have run back and forth investigating this case so many times, yet still failing to uncover who is plotting against me."
Standing in the hall, Xie Ziyuan lowered his gaze and cupped his hands. "It is my failure."
Prince of Hui let out a cold snort before shifting his gaze to the side. His expression softened as he spoke warmly, "I must thank Doctor Ye for lending a hand. To those who have shown me kindness, I shall never be ungrateful."
At his words, a servant stepped forward, presenting a wooden box.
Seated nearby was another man—though it was broad daylight, he carried an open umbrella.
