"We've got enemies coming. They're direwolves, and pretty strong ones at that..." Jane trailed off, looking Evangeline up and down. "Be careful how you use your blood. While it doesn't count as a magic spell, if it comes into contact with mana, you'd be dead."
"Don't worry about it, I know what I'm doing," Evangeline replied. "Those mana-eating things won't be able to do anything to me. After all, I've been killing them every time they tried to touch my blood."
