Athena pressed down on the accelerator, her grip tightening around the steering wheel.
The jeep roared as it sped down the ruined road, dodging the rusted remains of abandoned cars and debris-strewn streets.
The world around her had completely fallen apart. Once-thriving cities were nothing but husks of their former selves, overgrown with weeds and painted in dried blood.
She had already faced one monstrous zombie, and she knew it wouldn't be the last. A low growl sounded from somewhere in the distance.
She tensed, eyes flicking to the side mirror. The night sky cast eerie shadows, stretching the remains of destroyed buildings into grotesque shapes.
But among them, movement. Not just one figure, dozens. They were fast.
"Shit." Athena shifted gears.
The engine roared as the jeep shot forward, but the figures behind her responded in kind. These weren't the usual slow, lumbering undead.
