An Origin Source—following the Soul Eater's death—would immediately return to the Origin Sea. They would lose everything that they once were—including memories, feelings, and any connections that they had with their previous lives.
The Origin Source would become a blank slate. It would be a fresh start for its Core Existence.
However, along with this fresh start came both a curse and a blessing: the Origin Source's special quality—eternal rebirth and eternal perpetuity. They could neither be permanently harmed nor erased and would always—without exception—return to the Origin Sea following the Soul Eater's death.
Even newly born Soul Eaters—either made by devouring another Soul Eater or naturally becoming one through evil deeds—would go to the Origin Sea after death. On that note, the Origin Sources of Soul Eaters would not be devoured when a different Soul Eater ate another.
