His fingers curled into a fist. "I'm calling the security team. This doesn't feel right."
"Wait," Kelvin interrupted. "Let me try Lily's number first. If hers doesn't go through either, then we'll know for sure that something is off."
Kelvin's concern was just as deep as Ford's, but his worry was more personal—Lily was his love. He couldn't bear the thought of something happening to her.
Ford nodded, watching as Kelvin quickly dialed. His heart pounded in his chest, his nerves on edge.
Kelvin held his phone to his ear, waiting. Then, his face twisted in confusion. "Her line is busy."
Ford's eyes widened. "Busy? Are you serious? At a time like this?" His voice rose in frustration. "Where is she? Why is her line busy when she should be calling us for help?"
Without wasting another second, Ford turned back to his phone and scrolled through his contacts, searching for the chief security officer's number. He was done waiting—he needed answers.
