Although Logan didn't accept Angelica's confession, he did promise her a "surprise" on her birthday.
That alone was enough to make Angelica feel giddy with excitement.
"Logan, thank you. I'm really happy," she said sweetly.
Logan gave her a glance. "I have work to do."
But Angelica was already drunk on the idea of a birthday surprise. Even though Logan was clearly dismissing her, she only felt more in love.
"Then I'll leave now. See you on my birthday. Oh, right…"
Angelica's tone softened, hiding venom beneath sweetness.
"Would it be okay if I invited a few more friends? It's the first time you're celebrating my birthday… I'm just so thrilled."
"Whatever makes you happy," Logan said flatly.
Angelica was practically floating as she walked out.
