Selina looked up.
The once-bustling auction hall seemed to fall eerily quiet.
Kyle stood at the entrance, jaw clenched and expression grim. "Get out," he spat.
Selina felt an odd flicker in her chest but kept her tone calm. "You own this auction house?"
"Selina, you'd better not push me."
All Kyle could see was Angelica crying these past few days—refusing to eat, refusing to sleep, whispering "Mom" in her dreams. His heart ached.
Katie had indeed committed unforgivable acts, but she also raised Angelica. Her maternal role wasn't meaningless.
And… Kyle couldn't help but think of his own mother.
So when he saw Selina here, completely unaffected, a wave of hate surged up. "I said get out!"
People began turning to look.
Some recognized Kyle and Selina immediately, whispering among themselves. But Kyle—normally one to care about appearances—was too fixated on driving her out to notice.
