Han Yi then continued with a smile, "Although those who have cultivated for a long time will more or less figure out how to refine the mortal pathway from pores to roots eventually, they still have to go through a process of trial and error, thus the resulting in the average of 10 years of pathway refinement. Even then, there's a lot of casualties since most youths don't think too much when they try to cultivate. And even if an experienced cultivator guided someone on their cultivation, when a cultivator enters the meditative state, following their mentor's instructions is difficult."

Tian Ye nodded in reply. As someone who had gone through this ordeal, he knew what Han Yi was talking about.

If not for his mature mind, which wasn't bound by this world's conventional thinking and methods, he wouldn't have thought of chants to hypnotize one's subconscious.

In his previous life, he never understood why cultivation techniques in novels included chants when they were simply absorbing spiritual qi, but now, experiencing it for himself, he finally understood.

The chants were a guiding method for created by previous generations to help cultivators to be able to guide themselves without the teachings of an experienced cultivator.

Of course, there will be benefits from listening to an experienced cultivator, but if they know about a chant guided cultivation technique, they don't need to have someone teach them how to cultivate step by step and just memorize the chants, because the guiding chants themselves will show them the way, the only thing left was to walk it.

The Eternal Lotus Sect, along with the neighboring sects of the same level within the Purple Cloud Continent, were naturally not exposed to such things, seeing that they were relying alone on luck, understanding of disciples, and instructions of the experienced to guide the younger generations.

If the other neighboring sects were to find out of Tian Ye's chant guided cultivation technique, they'd naturally try to seize it, because in a sect, being able to guarantee the promotion of its disciples in terms of cultivation was not only desirable but could also be looked at in greed.

Only in higher-level sects, where many cultivators live for hundreds of years or have powerful ancestors, would they be naturally exposed to such things because these cultivators can afford to spend time on such things because they have a lot of lifespan to spare.

However, unlike them, other cultivators, such as the peak of Qi Refinement Realm without convenient means would rather focus on breaking through to the next realm, only by the end of their lifespans, when they've lost all hope of breaking through to the next level, would they begin to focus on nurturing the next generation.

Is it selfish? It's indeed selfish, and there's nothing wrong with it.

What's wrong with thinking for oneself? What's wrong with thinking for one's own benefit?

Han Yi looked Tian Ye in the eye with a nod, "You've made a valuable contribution to the sect by creating a chant guided cultivation technique, what do you want in return for it?"

Hearing Han Yi's words, Tian Ye couldn't help but smile in excitement, "I want resources, master. A lot of it, as much as I can get."

Then he said with his eyes as sincere, as determined, as serious, as excited, as cold as he could be, "I want to see the peak. I feel that if I drag on with my cultivation in the Qi Refinement Realm at an early age, I won't be able to see a glimpse of the peak, much less stand at the peak."

As he finished his words, he looked Han Yi in the eye and asked, "Will you help me, Master?"

Han Yi, staring back at Tian Ye's eyes, couldn't help but sweat a little, and before he answered, he gulped, holding back the excitement in his heart, "Of course, what kind of master would I be if I didn't support my own disciple?"

Hearing Han Yi's positive answer, Tian Ye laughed out loud and said with a sincere smile, "Thank you, Master!"

Han Yi chuckled and nodded as he looked towards the sky through the open balcony to his floor, "Your childhood friends should arrive soon."

Tian Ye then scratched the back of his head, "If possible, I don't want to see them, master. They depend on me too much, after all, I guided them for 4 years straight in their cultivation and they think whatever I say is correct. Yes, I'm indeed correct on most things, but it's bad for them to grow up with this kind of mentality. Do you have some papers to write on, Master? I'll write the chants now, then I'd like to go into seclusion. I'll depend on the Master to show me a place and to give me the resources."

"Is that so?" Han Yi's simply nodded in reply as he pulled pieces of paper from below the low table and put them on top. Along with it, was a pen and ink set.

As soon as it was on the table, Tian Ye began to write the chants and a few minutes later, he exhaled, "Done."

Han Yi also nodded in satisfaction as he read through the papers that Tian Ye wrote on, although he simply read through it, it was indeed in line with the breathing technique from the Qi Refining Manual.

Han Yi then stood up with the papers on his hands, walking towards his desk, planning to keep it first.

"Are you planning on cultivating in seclusion for a long time?"

Tian Ye, hearing Han Yi's question, thought for a moment but in the end still nodded, "Yes."

"How long?" Han Yi asked as he continued to safekeep the chant guided cultivation technique on a compartment in his desk.

"10 years."

"10 years?!" Han Yi almost lost his footing from his words. 10 years! Even he hadn't gone into a seclusion that long and now his disciple, not even 10 years old, wanted to be in seclusion for 10 years!

He looked at Tian Ye with a complicated and an amazed look before he finally sighed and said, "Alright, as your resources, I'll provide you with 10 ten-year old spiritual herbs every month until you reach the 4th layer. This is the current limit or else, it would simply be wasteful, you still need to stabilize your foundation. Only when you reach at least 4th layer would I give you hundred-year old spiritual herbs as a resource for cultivation."

Tian Ye's eyes flickered slightly thinking that maybe Han Yi was taking advantage of him but after contemplating, he thought that Han Yi's words made sense so he nodded in understanding.

Ten-year old spiritual herbs, these herbs are originally mortal herbs but has the compatibility with spiritual qi allowing them to be baptized by spiritual qi and be able to host them naturally over time.

To gauge its qi quantity, a ten-year old spiritual herb has the total amount of how much a cultivator can absorb within 1 year, however, a cultivator can only absorb a total of a month's worth of spiritual qi and the rest is wasted. Even within that month's worth of spiritual qi, there were still a lot of impurities and needed to be refined.

As for the hundred year old spiritual herb, it had 10 years worth of a cultivator's spiritual qi and a cultivator can absorb a total of 1 year's worth!

Tian Ye couldn't help but feel a pity that the sect wasn't exposed to knowledge about alchemists and have alchemists optimize the effects of the herbs and then refining the spiritual herbs into pills.

Although 9 years worth of spiritual qi is wasted because it wasn't refined into a pill, being able to have 1 year's worth of spiritual qi within a few days to a week of absorption was enough to make him excited.

His goal was to at least reach the peak of Qi Refinement Realm before the age of 20!

If he does, his small goal can be considered to be achieved!

If other people in the sect knew about Tian Ye's goal and that he considered such a goal small, one would probably have difficulty holding themselves back from smacking him in the head.

After putting away the papers that had the chant guided cultivation technique, Han Yi slowly walked towards the staircase and said, "Follow me."

Tian Ye stood up from his seat and followed closely behind Han Yi, knowing full well where he was going to bring him.

Either he will bring him to a place where he could have his seclusion or where he would be buried due to his talent being too much for his master.

Having these thoughts, Tian Ye couldn't help but laugh in his heart but didn't mind taking this gamble, in addition, he didn't think his master was that kind of a petty man.

Exiting the Elders' Pavilion where a lot of gazes turned to them, Tian Ye was led by Han Yi to the peak of the mountain.
