Kai's POV
Jack paused at a bank of elevators, his reflection sharp in the chrome doors.
"My meeting's on the 70th. Are you sure you don't want to charm the spouses in the company's lounge? Most of my board members came straight from a yacht party for my impromptu meeting and most came with their wives...they might be good company. They've got a caviar bar."
I glanced at a group of women nearby, their dresses costing more than my mother sold me for.
"I'd rather lick the floor." I told him bluntly.
I liked that I can do that now, I liked that I was allowed to say no.
"Fair." He jabbed the elevator button.
The doors slid open, revealing an elevator.
It was lined with screens flashing stock prices and headlines:

My mouth dropped.
"How old are you?"
I simply had to know.
It took him off guard. "Hmm...Twenty four, why?"
