Chapter 1 - Die My Love?

In a dimly lit room…

The only light in the room came from the computer screen. Its glow shone over the trash-filled space.

The air was heavy with silence, disturbed only by the soft clicking sound of the keyboard.

A fat man was sitting in front of the computer screen, typing like a maniac.

The fat man, Damien, sat hunched on his chair.

His body barely shifted as his fingers traced across the keyboard keys.

His facial features were not clearly visible—except for his bloodshot eyes, which focused on the screen with the intensity of a psychopath.

He didn't even blink.

Didn't move.

The real world had become irrelevant to him long ago.

He was so lost in his fictional world that he failed to notice a dark-robed figure standing behind him, holding a knife.

Still.

Silent.

Watching Damien.

Their face wasn't visible due to a dark robe covering it.

The figure looked at Damien intently with a sense of longing… as if they cared for him, but the knife in their hands suggested something else.

Damien was still oblivious to the longing gaze of the figure.

BAM!

Damien smashed his keyboard.

"Fck you, Author… What kind of ending is this?" he cursed loudly, his voice filled with fury.

"I'm going to find you and beat you to death, you fcker…"

He grinned like a maniac.

The robed figure was startled—then attacked.

The blade moved swiftly.

Damien felt something as he tried to move…

But he wasn't fast enough.

The knife pierced straight through his back and reached his heart.

"Arghhhhh!"

An intense wave of pain coursed through his body.

His body convulsed.

His strength was already fading.

He couldn't think straight, but he barely managed to mutter a single word.

"Who… who—?"

The words were raw with emotion.

But no answer came from the robed figure.

They say that in the final moments, a person's life flashes before their eyes briefly.

It was true for Damien as well.

He had long since lost sensation within his body; only his mind worked, showing him the memories…

But for him, it was not joyous memories that greeted him—it was regret.

He saw everything he had lost… how he had become the failure he currently was.

He saw a different time.

A different Damien.

One who had a good life. A purpose.

And her.

Elena.

The memories washed over him like waves of a tsunami.

He could remember her last moment.

The feeling of her delicate fingers wrapped around his hands, her trembling voice filled with pain.

"Damien, please… live a life free of regret. Please be happy… I will… I will always be with you…"

Her pained smile was clearer than it had ever been.

Why did her smile feel so vivid to him now?

He didn't know.

I'm sorry, Elena.

He saw his parents next.

His mother's soft and gentle smile—the smile she always gave him every time he felt lost…

His father's steady and reassuring gaze, as if saying everything is okay.

"Damien, we believe in you."

Their voices filled his mind.

He could feel the warmth in their voices, something he had failed to notice before.

Why did I change so much?

I wasted it all…

I wasted… everything.

His mind finally felt sluggish.

The edges of his vision darkened.

I guess this is how I die.

This was Damien's last thought, filled with regret, before the light in his eyes vanished as death finally embraced him.

His body lay lifeless in a puddle of blood.

__

The killer stood beside his body.

Their face was still hidden by the hood.

They looked at Damien's body as if searching for something within.

Then, slowly, the killer removed the hood.

A beautiful face was revealed.

A woman.

She had a crazed smile plastered on her face.

She turned around, not finding what she was looking for.

Her expression was filled with longing.

"Hehe... Let's meet again, Damien."

Her voice was accompanied by a creepy laugh.

"We will definitely meet again, my love."

She raised the knife in her hand.

The blade was covered in the viscous blood of Damien.

Without hesitation—

She stabbed herself.

Piercing straight through her own heart.

Her expression was one of ecstasy, not pain.

She fell to the ground.

Her gaze met the lifeless eyes of Damien.

"We will... definitely..."

Her sentence remained incomplete as her eyes lost their light.
