Amyra walked away with light steps.
Unlike her usual slow and measured steps, she was walking quickly.
Her face was warm, and her heart was pounding.
And—most importantly—she couldn't control her smile.

I talked to my Alden.
She didn't care if he found it odd.
She had done it out of jealousy and desperation after hearing about his spar with Nyx.
Maybe he would find it suspicious, but at most, he would just think it was a side effect of the butterfly effect.
And she didn't regret it.
She had been too cautious before.

If I stay like this, someone will snatch him away.
A dangerous thought flickered in her mind.

Someplace where no one else could see him.
Where he could only look at me. Talk to me.
But I can't.
He would hate that.
