I wasn't meant to sit with them at the round table. Instead, I was meant to sit at the opposite table. I brought out my pen and notebook to jot down some things that might be important for Nicholas. I didn't want to be sitting without doing anything.
The meeting started, and I almost zoned out at some point. There were parts that weren't even important to me. Most of the conversation was about Cassie getting married to Nicholas. I bet Nicholas was also tired of the conversation. From the look of things, he didn't know the man he was about to have a meeting with was Cassie's father, given the way he reacted when he saw him with her.
I didn't say anything unless Nicholas asked me to input when he saw the need. I tried to insert my own opinion, and I was glad he gave me that opportunity. Cassie's dad stared at me, and he looked so surprised to see a mere PA giving out ideas that were really useful to them. For some reason, I felt so proud of myself.
