"What took you so long?"
Amber offered her dad a smile. "I decided to spend some time at a bar and then didn't realize that time had gone."
He nodded, but she could see that he didn't believe her. She rushed upstairs to her room. Ethan was asleep already. She would be going to the park with Ethan tomorrow. She went ahead to get a shower and then called it a day. Amber had a lot on her mind as she fell asleep.

The next morning, she woke up so early because she wanted to go for a run. It had been ages since she last went for a morning run, and she thought today was the best time, since she didn't have anything to do in the morning. The park trip would be in the afternoon. She changed into her sports clothes and then went downstairs to see her dad sitting alone in the living room.
"Good morning, Dad," she greeted with a kiss on his cheeks. He ruffled her hair. "How was your night?"
"It was nice."
