Cassius had jumped down from the top of the well, descending downward in a hurry without caring if there was a way to go back up. She saw him as he put himself with the dirty well, his hands then shooting forward to hold her face.
In a sobbing mess, it was hard to see everything clearly but she could see Cassius's face which was only a breadth away from hers. How his red eyes seemed filled with worries, rage, and there was the look of hesitation that brimmed on his entire soul. His eyebrows were furrowed tight, even his signature smile was no where to be found.
Shouldn't he be happy that she look this upset and in harm?
Wasn't this what he wanted to see?
Yet his expression betrays everything.
She couldn't stop the tears that drenched her face. He placed his hand on her cheeks so gently and that tender touch seemed to have caused more tears to fall from her eyes.
