Courtez had been helpful to Ariel ever since the two were brought to the brothel. Being a rather clever and composed woman allowed Courtez to easily find the best option for Ariel, knowing well that Arabella had asked her precisely as she knew how her older sister wouldn't survive easily in the brothel.
With the mix of vampires as guests to the brothel, Arabella wasn't quite wrong. Courtez who admired Arabella's character and love for her sister eventually decided to take care of Ariel as if she was her own buy at the same time showing to Ursula that she doesn't actually like the girl but see her as an important merchandise so Ursula wouldn't use Ariel as a leverage.
