After stuffing themselves with snacks and successfully recharging their energy, Yan Rouxi was ready for round two of shopping. Xia Yuqing, however, was not. She side-eyed her friend, who was practically vibrating with excitement, and groaned internally.
So this is what men feel like when they're dragged around by their girlfriends on endless shopping trips… a slow, torturous death by shopping. No wonder they look so lifeless in those mall benches.
Just when she thought she was doomed, Yan Rouxi's phone rang.
"Hello?" she answered brightly, but her excitement faded fast. Her brows furrowed, her lips pressed into a thin line, and by the time she hung up, she looked utterly exasperated.
Xia Yuqing tilted her head. "Bad news?"
"Ugh." Yan Rouxi sighed dramatically. "Yeah. Some idiot at work messed up big time, so I need to go fix it. Shopping's over."
"Thank the heavens," Xia Yuqing muttered under her breath, barely containing her relief.
