The wolves appeared, emerging from the shadows like phantoms, their eyes glowing with hunger and malice. Their coats were matted, dark as the night, and their fangs gleamed white. They quickly spread out and circled him, their growls low and guttural. They were close to Baaz's level as the bigger one seemed to be level 65. A quick identify informed him that they were Black wolves. And for a moment no party moved. The stare down stayed for a good moment before it was broken by the wolves.

With a sudden snap, the first wolf lunged, fangs bared and muscles coiled to strike. Balthazar spun, his movements inhumanly swift, his clawed hand slashing through the air. With a sickening crunch, his claws sank deep into the wolf's neck, tearing through fur and flesh, and the beast crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
But the pack was relentless. Another wolf, smaller but quicker, darted forward, biting at his leg. Baaz's foot slammed down with a force that cracked the earth, crushing the wolf beneath it. His wings lashed violently, whipping across the face of a third wolf, sending it tumbling through the underbrush with a yelp of surprise.
The biggest wolf of the pack, a hulking beast with eyes like molten amber, looked at the woods and as if receiving a command, it charged. Baaz met the charge head-on, his wings snapping open like a blackened shield, and he was a blur of motion. With a single sweep of his arm, he sliced through two wolves that had attempted to flank him. Their bodies fell to the ground, twitching in their death throes.
But the big wolf, relentless and vicious, closed in. It leapt at the demon's throat, fangs aimed for his jugular. With a roar, Baaz grabbed the wolf mid-air, its weight crashing into him, but he caught it with ease. He twisted, his sharp claws sinking deep into its chest as he hurled the creature aside, its body hitting the earth with a sickening thud.
The remaining wolves hesitated, sensing the tide of battle had turned. The demon baronet stood over the fallen, his breathing steady, his eyes glowing with a crimson fury. He raised one hand and suddenly there in his hands, there was an axe which he used to cleave the big wolf in half. Deep in the woods howls were heard and one of them was particularly ominous.

From the woods, three new figures appeared, two big wolves accompanied by a massive wolf with two tails. It exuded such presence that Baaz had to stop and hesitate. A quick Inspect showed that the Direwolf was a level 95 boss. This forced him to take a more cautious approach. He knew it was strong, but he has no idea that he was this strong.
It's presence had an immediate effect as the remaining wolves stopped cowering and quickly went behind their leader. The beast had intelligent eyes and that alarmed him even more. It howled and all the others dispersed each going to a specific spot. The two regular wolves, under the leadership of the Direwolf, went to confront him as the others attempted to surround and overwhelm him. With such coordinated tacticts it was going to be hard. While the wolves may not stand much chance individually against a demon, their strength lies in numbers and agility. They can dart in and out of combat, harrying him and distracting it while the two big wolves will take the brunt of its power. And that's exactly what they did while the Direwolf was watching on the sides.
The two big wolves pounced toward him, their fangs ready to tear apart the demon. Baaz quickly countered by using his axe but he soon felt pain in his wings as each one were attacked by wolves. He reflexively tried to protect them as they were fragile appendages. He turned his back on the big wolves as he cut down the ones attacking his wings. He was immediately punished for it as two big bodies crashed into him, basically pummeling him to the ground. In a pinch, he quickly used magic:
[ Electro Magic Mastery], [Electro choc].
Electric sparks were quickly emitted from his body, paralyzing the big wolves. Seein them stunned, he disengaged himself but this gave time to the other wolves to pounce down on him as his feet, his hands were quickly attacked. It seemed that they were trying to pin him to the ground. This pushed him to once again use the same spell. Some of the smartest ones quickly let go of him. Finally free, He stood up and took his weapon that he let go of while trying to protect his neck. But unfortunately the big wolves were already okay.
" TSKK... TSKK.." Baaz clicked his tongue,it seemed that their furry coats were on the way and minimized the impact of the Electro Magic. He needed to switch to another one, more appropriate for the current situation. As he was going to start spamming, a voice appeared. A voice he hasn't heard since he woke up.
" Careful demon, conserve your energy. More are on their way."
" What, you're still here for a moment I thought you were dead or something." Said Baaz and he quickly added:
" you said more are coming but how there nothing on the map..." Said Baaz and even before he could continue the direwolf howled.
" Not everthing is on the map you idiot, and to answer your first question let's say that I encountered some complications
Now is not the time for this, be careful you are going to have it rough, enjoy!!!" Said the system before going silent.

With a piercing howl that rang across the whole forest, the wolves retreated and even the Direwolf boss backed out. Suddenly, the woods became alive as more than a hundred wolves and ten Direwolves appeared from all over. Baaz quickly found himself in a circle. The wolves quickly parted making way for the leader of the pack. Another howl once again echoed, clearly different form the other as it initiated the hunt. The surrounding wolves immediately started charging towards him.
No more time to collect his thoughts, he started casting fire magic.
BANG… Bright light accompanied with intenseheat erupted from his outstretched hand and all the wolves in a ten meters area around him were burnt to crisps within seconds.
Black smoke rose from the corpses as the fire burnt them into ashes. Baaz looked on with wide eyes as he witnessed the destruction brought forth from the magic with his own eyes.
"Awoooooo" the leader wolf howled and immediately the surrounding wolves dispersed and started their charge from all directions. The Alpha was quite sentient and knew how to take advantage and surround the prey with their numbers.
Baaz aware of what the wolves were trying to do started running towards the more damaged groups, trying to escape the encirclement. He quickly leaped over the remaining ones and started running while spamming
"Fire magic, Fire magic, Fire magic…Fire magic..huff..huff."
He repeatedly cast fire magic left and right, burning all the wolves charging and encircling him along with the trees and ground behind. Many trees were burnt into charcoal, due to his now bigger mana pool,
But even this had a limit. His (MP) which was around 255 had reduced to 100 something. He knew that this cannot go on for long because as soon as he runs out of mana, he will be completely defenceless.
He had to come up with something and fast. From all his skills that looked offensive, there was only [Fire Magic Mastery] and [ Electro Magic Mastery]. The former was the magic he was currently using, but he could not use the latter because of the problem that the coat of furs represented.
Still running away, his brain was making diverse calculations, as it went in survival mode. He needed a place where he could at least guard his back so that he could focus on his foes. From the hundred wolves that came charging at him at least 80 were still alive and were pursuing him. And to not forget the ten Direwolves that were way faster and stronger than others and way in the back, the Alpha was calmly advancing an excited grin on its face. Baaz realized that he was considered as a prey.
This thought alone made his blood boil as he remembered his past trauma. Fueled by anger, he ignored the fatigue that was gaining him and accelerated. Direction his lair.
