Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: The Land’s End

"Mist and Gastro Acid may create a strategic field, but it's far from a true single-core strategy."

Klein's words were calm, but they made Blade's face change instantly.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Your Pokémon's abilities have all been nullified! How is this not a flawless single-core tactic?"

"A precise strategy, sure, but one that fails to integrate the rest of your team. Haven't you noticed? Weezing is getting heavier. Venomoth's ability isn't functioning properly either."

A true single-core strategy should allow seamless synergy between all team members, not a setup where Weezing's Levitate is suppressed, making its movements sluggish, or where Venomoth's beams lose their previous lethality.

"This kind of strategy is no more than a pseudo single-core—it can't enhance the entire team."

"But the most crucial reason—"

Klein's gaze turned ice-cold as he looked at Arbok.

"Your so-called core simply isn't strong enough."

As soon as he finished speaking, Scizor plummeted from the sky, its pincers glowing bright red as it dove straight at Arbok!

Arbok tried to escape with Shed Skin, but Scizor's body flickered, vanishing momentarily before reappearing at extreme speed, unleashing a storm of Air Slash.

The relentless cutting winds tore into Arbok, opening fresh wounds, trapping it in a vortex of slashes from all angles.

Scizor then seized Arbok and flung it across the battlefield before unleashing a barrage of glowing Bullet Punches that rained down mercilessly.

"Even without Technician, Scizor can still crush your Arbok with ease."

"Dammit! Weezing, stop him!"

Weezing swallowed another berry and unleashed a Belch, laced with toxins absorbed from the battlefield's lingering smog.

Scizor dodged nimbly, and as Arbok lunged for a surprise Crunch, Delphox teleported into its path, making it bite nothing but air.

Delphox remained as lazy as ever, absentmindedly twirling its branch-like wand.

Blade quickly adjusted his strategy, ordering Weezing to rush in—clearly targeting the battlefield's supporting core.

However, flames erupted in full bloom, as Delphox's Mystical Fire exploded violently around it.

Weezing, unable to get close, was engulfed in searing heat and sent spinning away.

"You really think this setup can restrict Groudon's power?"

What?!

Even though the toxic mist had suppressed its ability and stat boosts, that didn't mean it would remain powerless forever.

Slowly but surely, Groudon—no, Mew—was acclimating to the battlefield.

Its gaze landed on Blade, filled with clear hostility.

To protect the Tree of Beginnings, the transformed Mew finally chose to stop holding back.

Sensing the threat, the Tree of Beginnings reacted.

Golden crystalline energy gathered from within, condensing into a simulated Red Orb that shot through the sky before embedding itself in Groudon's body.

Throughout history, Mew had existed since ancient times, said to contain the genetic blueprint of all Pokémon.

Some debated whether Mew or Arceus was the true original Pokémon, but one thing was undeniable—Mew held the genetic code of all creatures, even humans.

This particular Mew, the guardian of the Tree of Beginnings, had spent countless millennia observing both human civilization and the natural world.

Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Fiore, Almia—Mew had traveled across all regions, witnessing everything firsthand.

Unlike the games' Transform, Mew's unique transformation ability in this world functioned as a perfect replication system—copying not just the appearance but also the abilities, moves, and traits of legendary Pokémon.

In the Lucario and the Mystery of Mew film, it had taken on the form of Ho-Oh, and at other times, it disguised itself as common Pokémon to blend into human cities.

Through countless encounters, Mew had interacted with nearly every legendary Pokémon.

Though innocent and playful, it was far from weak—in fact, it was terrifyingly powerful.

Now, bathed in the light of the Tree of Beginnings, Mew's transformation broke through its limits once again.

The massive body of Groudon twisted and shifted, its form beginning to distort—

Klein activated his Dream Link, recalling all of his Pokémon except Delphox.

"...Impossible."

The earth trembled.

A wave of heat engulfed the battlefield, unleashing an immense light so intense it threatened to evaporate everything in sight.

From within the searing mist, a pair of menacing, glowing eyes pierced through.

The legendary Groudon had ascended to an even greater form.

The sunlight above was no longer merely harsh—it became absolute.

Instantly, the toxic mist that once filled the battlefield was completely erased by the cleansing heat.

Weezing, Arbok, and Venomoth—all frozen in place, unable to move under the blinding light.

Desperate, Blade threw out his Tentacruel, commanding it to douse the flames with Water Gun.

But in this overwhelming radiance—

Water had lost all meaning.

"This… is the true Land's End."

At this moment, Mew, having Primal Reverted into Primal Groudon, activated its Desolate Land ability.

The battlefield was now under Extreme Harsh Sunlight—a phenomenon even beyond normal Sunny Day.

Fire-type moves were amplified.

Water-type moves were completely nullified.

It was as if the entire battlefield had been transported into the heart of an active volcano.

Wielding two blazing swords, Primal Groudon's weapons glowed with golden light, burning like the fury of the sun itself.

This combination technique had been refined through Klein and Mew's tactical discussions—

More than just powerful, it was incredibly stylish—something Mew deeply appreciated.

Perhaps next time, I should try turning into Rayquaza or Xerneas… and ask Klein for even more flashy battle techniques.

With just one slash, the devastating sword energy descended upon Blade and his Pokémon.

After the explosion of light faded, every single one of Blade's Pokémon had been defeated.

Blade stood there in disbelief, staring at the scene before him.

"This… this is Mew's true power… Hahaha… You truly are the strongest, Mew!"

He burst into laughter.

For years, many had doubted the northern remnants and their obsession with Mew.

But now, having witnessed Mew's unfathomable strength, Blade felt that everything had been worth it.

The endless pursuit of Mew by their ancestors—

It wasn't in vain.

If they could control Mew, perhaps they truly could conquer the world.

"You're under arrest, Team Rocket."

Klein's voice interrupted his thoughts.

At some point, Klein had walked up behind him, snapping a pair of handcuffs onto the Team Rocket executive.

Blade didn't resist.

Instead, he gazed at the tiny Mew—now back in its original form—his eyes filled with utter devotion.
