Noah let out a deep sigh as I tucked the blanket around him again, making sure he was warm and comfortable. He looked up at me with tired yet amused eyes, and I could already see that stubborn glint in them.
"Lyla, I don't need to be wrapped up like a burrito," he grumbled, trying to shift.
I shot him a pointed look. "You say that now, but the moment you get chills, you'll be thanking me. Now, stay put."
He huffed but didn't argue further, which was a victory in itself. His fever had gone down, but he still looked exhausted. His skin was pale, and the dark circles under his eyes showed just how little rest he'd been getting. I wasn't going to let him push himself anymore.
"I'll make you some tea," I said, brushing my fingers lightly against his forehead. It was warm but not burning like last night. "And don't even think about checking your phone while I'm gone."
His lips curled into a smirk. "How would you know if I did?"
