Lyra stood still, her lips curving into a dangerous smile as the leader's mocking laughter echoed in the room. The assassins surrounding her clenched their weapons tighter, their eyes wary yet determined. Despite the fear flickering in their gazes, they knew their orders. Their leader had spoken: kill her and take everything she had.
Well, that's because she refused to hand them over nicely. They weren't patient enough to wait for the drug to kick in.
"Well then," Lyra murmured, her fingers loosening the clasp of her cloak. "Let's have some fun."
The cloak slipped off her body, dropping to the ground.
With a flick of her wrist, she threw the artifact from her finger. A sudden wave of dark energy pulsed from her form, sending a shiver through the air. Her human disguise shattered.
