Theron moved not like the wind, but akin to flowing water. He parried one strand of gold after another, one streaming attack gliding past his shoulders, by his cheeks, or impaling itself between his legs.
There was a focus in his eyes as he overwhelmed the streaming lines of gold silk blades.
He hadn't understood them. Right now, he was using his control to overwhelm them. He realized early that this wasn't a challenge that he would be able to easily overcome.
But the sword's rage was giving him the opportunity.
If it had continued to split its attention between the Tribulation and its attacks, Theron would have been overwhelmed even if he brought out his Immortal Jellyfish Echo.
But since it insisted on swallowing all of the blades itself, there was a chance here.
And that was all Theron needed.
