Chapter 4 - Get a Kick, out of China

A green haired boy around four years old sobbed in the mud. drenched by rain, he flicked his hair from his face to see clearly as he reached toward a shooting star flying over the Jusenkyo ponds "Mark my words! I, Ochiba Banbusa! Will prove people love me!" he declared boldly The heavy rain made one of the ponds overflow, touching him but there was no scream afterwards and for a while, the boy wasn't seen anywhere.

The Jusenkyo guide, one extra strand of youth to his head, stood at the edge of the pond. He awaited visitors normally, but this time he patrolled the area to see if any good leaves fell off of the bamboo stalks. He wanted to make some tea but didn't want to risk getting splashed by the cursed waters and luckily, there was another good leaf on his path today it was specially full of life as if it were still on the stalk.

"I have wonderful tea" He was practicing speaking in Japanese more often since most visitors came from japan. Within his small shed the fresh leaf was placed on top of the pile of others while the Jusenkyo guide grabbed a knife while humming a tune. The other leaves were diced quickly as the freshest was saved last, but instead of being diced without struggle, the wind seemed to blow it just out of the way of the blade. "What this? I try again." And so he brought his blade down again only to miss again, and again, and again. The man began swearing in his native tongue out of frustration "You boil whole stupid leaf!"

The pot was intimidatingly hot, but no matter how the wind blows, the leaf was going into that pot. The Jusenkyo guide cheered at the defeat of the leaf, till a six year old boy pops out of the pot with a pained yelp. It was Ochiba! -in the flesh, now-.

"You nearly killed me!" He shouted in Chinese

"I no know you were leaf!" The guide still spoke in Japanese

"Huh-what?" which Ochiba didn't understand

Now speaking in Chinese he repeats. "I did not realize that you were a folium."

"Huh?" that was too proper though

"I ain't know you wer' a' green." he stood proudly like that was understood

"Huh?!" but it was too hick.

"I didn't know you were a leaf."

There was a skeptical pause...

"Ah, I see. Honest mistake, if it were a black piglet I would do the same." he sat crisscross, buck naked as he waved his hand to dispel any bad mood, finally understanding.

"Soo How long were you a leaf for?" he placed a cup of tea before Ochiba thoughtlessly.

Now in new clothes he fidgeted with the cup of tea with a hint of disgust "two years straight." he muttered.

He drank in one motion, almost gaging.

"Something wrong with the tea?"

"After being a leaf for so long... the same leaf that went into this tea... I forgot that I hated tea." he let a single tear drop slowly, stoically.

"Well I must go now. I have a vow to fulfill." he stood at the door for a while.

"Bye." The guide's focus was into sipping the tea, eyes closed.

"I shall make 100 women fall for me! before I decide if I love the one who broke my heart." He held a microphone -connected to god knows what- to emphasize his purpose.

"Best of luck." The guide didn't even glance at him, he was still sipping his tea. (tea time is important!)

Knowing he wasn't getting the attention he craved, the child left. Standing outside, he waited for the "right breeze" standing blankly with a hum. a small gust to the east sang silently past him "There, is the path to women" he marched bravely, straight, into the forest... (Will the kid live?)

"Banbusa Ochiba, age thirteen. Fifty women have loved me along my journey but as I speak now-" He peeked around a dumpster he hid behind at the sound of feet tapping. "I am on the run!" Three of the five women there gave chase as the other two alerted the forty-five other enraged women. The one who took the lead was the first who loved, short with two long strands from the front of her black hair wrapped around the back of the skull and tied together, wide red silk pants, and a red long baggy sleeved silk shirt with peach cuffs and pink accents completed her style. The red dye in her hair faded away to the tips as the war paint on her face seemed to be shaped from tears along with the other women.

"Get back here!!" She shouted as the other women roared.

Ochiba stumbled through the streets with the grace of the tossed stones that chased him "Lee Yin please understand!"

"I understand..."

"Really-"

She lifted a megaphone before her as she and the other vengeful warriors who chased with speakers put earmuffs on. "THAT YOU ABANDONED ME!!" The noise made a shockwave that knocked Ochiba to the ground. He slowly stood up, dazed, His ears rang as an army of women surrounded him. Maybe he was seeing double, he hoped, and he was... but there was still fifty enraged women, half of which were armed with weapons.

The storm of insults halt when Lee Yin walked through the parting crowd "You have disgraced us you scoundrel!" she pointed a spear at him "SCOUNDREL!" the girls repeated, loud enough to shake Ochiba. "You didn't even give us the courtesy of leaving for someone you're committed to!" She stomped "Lecher!" The girls shouted.

But the crowd spit again. A red haired girl, sobbing fresh tears as the mascara began to look like the war paint the others had, walked to the front, next to Lee Yin. "H-How Could You! Y-you said you would l-lo-" Lee yin gestured her to shout it at him. "y-You said you would LOVE ME FOREVER!!!" she screamed her heart out into the microphone as the speakers unleashed another stunning shockwave, cracking the wall with Ochiba.

Lee yin took the mic from the girls hand "You see! He said that to ALL of us!" She pulled a mallet out of thin air and handed it to the heart broken girl. She spoke to her calmly, and comforting "Let the burden of sadness weigh your hammer!" She clenched her fist inspiringly "Let the fiery rage in you guide your hammer!"

She looked at the hammer in her hands. When she looked back up girls tears stopped, replaced with an angry-no, Enraged! glare. She raised her hammer high "GRAAAAAAAHHH!!!" Her hammer flew true and with a *thump* flying through Ochiba's ribs and the air he flew through she hit him. All~ the way to the docks of China, right into a barrel.

"After him!!!"

Ochiba hid in the barrel, peeking through the lid for danger that soon came. *Clunk* he slipped deeper inside the barrel as the lid shut tightly. "I'm sorry..." The new warrior of vengeance seemed to be speaking. "It's alright you hit him hard!" one of the other girls consoled her. *thud* a foot was on the top of the barrel as on the outside Lee Yin stood looking out to the ocean toward japan. she didn't see any boat, and she knew of his curse. "Keep looking! he wouldn't run to sea" the crowds separated into smaller groups to continue searching ahead of Lee Yin. "When I find you... you will pay!" shortly after her vow she kicked the barrel she stood on into the sea. she walked into the town to continue her search as the barrel floated away.

"Banbusa Ochiba, age fourteen, women: fifty. I celebrated my birthday yesterday... and learned that barnacles are quite delicious *grumble* this barrel has been a reliable- *thump* boat... I've decided to lay low wherever I end up. *thump* maybe I will start a shop- *Thud* What is going on?!" He peaked out of the barrel "Sylvie~" a light brown haired girl around his age was hugging his barrel! he crawled out and plucked the barrel away, sliding Azusa back from her-"Sylvie!" She whined and whined for her-"Sylvie!" a slight skirmish ensued. "Charlotte!" she hit him with a stuffed horse "Martina!" She hit him with a steel sheet "Give, ME, Sylvie!" before she hit him with a hammer named "Clementine~" Mikado plucked it from her hand "Azusa, you shouldn't be such a brute." She pouted.

He stood before Ochiba "Sorry about her, she is a childish girl. I am Mikado Sanzein of the golden pair."

Ochiba barely understood what he said, he studied very little Japanese "Am- Ochiba Banbusa... name is."

They all stood there, blank faced and silent. Mikado walked out of the room and came back with a Japanese to Chinese book. the learning was backwards, but it was something. "Ah that is much better!" Ochiba had the same tone as Mikado, confident and pompous. "So... Ochiba?" he nodded "Why did you arrive in this barrel?"

"Fifty women loved me, but I was on the move for another spark! but as I hid from my lovers... the... barrel was knocked into the sea... by a killer wave!" he was slapping together any story that hid that he was now hated by them.

"I understand. I kissed many women consensually" (he did not) "but I move on to the next kiss since it is the only way to live!"

"You two are both lecherous" Azusa remarked maliciously and thoughtlessly

"he is worse." they both spoke, got insulted, and glared.

"I'm only after the heart of 100 people so I can decide if my true love is the only one I can love"

"I only grant the wishes of every girl who asks kindly" (they don't.) "I mend their hearts!" (after breaking them.)"Shut up Azusa!"

She had a deceptively good cry but as Mikado was about to apologize Azusa punched him in his kidney, *bleh* she stuck her tongue at him and he chased her around to chide her loudly.

Ochiba snuck out with his-uh-Joshua! but it was more like walking out instead of sneaking. "Ochiba-" "Kuno, age-" "fourteen" they nodded to each other before continuing their monologues. "I have arrived to japan ready to find the next fifty." he waited for the wind to blow again. North called to him and he ventured all the way to... Hokkaido, and then Chugoku. He roamed all throughout japan making heartbreaks and fame where ever he went.

"Banbusa Ochiba, age sixteen, women 51 -accidentally-. I have searched all over for my first love but cant seem to find them! I may have to risk the venture back to china. I will never give up! and I wonder if they will notice me. the last place I shall search is Nerima. hopefully you will be here my love, Shido Kon-!"
