Regardless of whether it was the 20th ward or the 24th Ward, these were all places Byakuya had been before.
As long as he had been somewhere, he could precisely teleport there using his space-time abilities.
However, he had never been to the underground world, so he couldn't use Kamui to teleport directly there.
"Hm, this is the 24th Ward. The Washuu clan must have already reached the underground world. We need to hurry."
Byakuya said, then took Eto's hand.
With dual Kamui, he could achieve short-distance teleportation without needing to pass through Kamui's dimension.
By opening multiple spatial vortexes simultaneously—one on himself and another at a target location within his field of vision—he could step through one "door" and instantly emerge from the other.
For longer distances beyond his line of sight, however, he had to pass through Kamui's dimension.
Since he had never been to the underground world, he couldn't teleport there blindly—it wasn't realistic to "warp" to a place he had never seen before.
"So fast…"
Feeling her body being carried through rapid teleportations, Eto couldn't help but be amazed.
This was far faster than she could fly in her kakuja form—it wasn't even in the same league.
It was just like those instant teleportation abilities seen in novels and manga.
"This is another power from those eyes of yours, huh?"
Eto asked.
"Yes"
Byakuya nodded slightly.
"You really are something else… Just your eyes alone are full of secrets."
Eto sighed.
She had known Byakuya for so long, yet she suddenly felt like she barely understood him at all.
She hadn't even had the chance to ask about that massive kakuja form of his, and now he was showing another mind-boggling ability.
Before long, Byakuya found the entrance to the underground world.
The repeated teleportations had drained a significant amount of his RC cells and ocular energy, but his constitution and RC cell reserves were strong enough to sustain him in battle against the Washuu clan.
And if he ever ran low, he had plenty of stat points to use.
"So, this is the underground world? I've been in the 24th Ward for years, but I never knew this place existed…"
Eto said.
Despite the large number of ghouls living in the 24th Ward, very few ventured too deep.
After all, the deeper areas were completely barren—there wasn't even another ghoul to cannibalize if one wanted to.
That was why Eto had never come this far before.
"This place was created by the first One-Eyed King. After undergoing Dragonization, he destroyed all of Tokyo, and everything collapsed underground. The Tokyo aboveground today is actually a rebuilt version."
Byakuya explained simply, "The Washuu clan fled here, probably for the Dragon's corpse."
"So that's the truth… No wonder the first One-Eyed King is a forbidden topic in the Washuu clan…"
Eto immediately understood.
She had heard of the first One-Eyed King but had never known about the underground world.
The people of modern Tokyo had no idea the city had been destroyed before. The Washuu clan had likely erased all records of it to maintain their power and prestige.
After landing, Byakuya and Eto saw a lifeless city before them.
And then, there was the Dragon—its sheer scale was overwhelming.
Eto had never seen such a monstrous entity before. The Dragon's body stretched so far that its end wasn't even visible.
However, it was clear they hadn't landed in the same spot as the Washuu. Byakuya scanned his surroundings but saw no trace of them.
"The underground world is just as vast as the surface Tokyo. Finding them won't be easy, but at least we'll be able to react in time to any situation."
Now that he had been here, he could teleport back anytime using Kamui.
"Let's take a look around first. I'm pretty interested in this Dragon's body."
Eto said.
Byakuya nodded slightly. He, too, wanted to investigate whether this Dragon's corpse still had any useful properties—it could be a treasure trove for scientific advancement.
But at the same time, it was a double-edged sword.
In the original story, Furuta had mentioned that the first One-Eyed King could distribute his life force to others, but it also caused catastrophic destruction.
Since the Washuu clan had specifically escaped from the CCG to come here, that meant there was a high chance the Dragon's body still wasn't completely dead.
Just then, three small figures suddenly emerged from the shadows.
Byakuya's reaction speed was unparalleled—he instantly flashed forward, pinning two of the children to the ground.
Eto swiftly restrained the third.
"Little girl, if you're not obedient, you're gonna get spanked~"
Eto teased with a smirk.
In her mind, though, she was surprised to find anyone still alive down here.
These three were all girls—the native residents of the underground world.
And all three had dead-fish eyes.
"I'm not your enemy. But if you insist on attacking, don't blame me for retaliating."
Byakuya said calmly.
He released the two girls he had pinned, though he hadn't used much force, so they were unharmed.
They scrambled to their feet, clearly sweating in fear, yet still putting on a tough act.
"Come at me!"
One of the girls rolled up her sleeves, ready for a fight.
"Y'gonna cook us up and eat us?!"
Another tried to sound fierce as she questioned Byakuya.
"No… I already told you, I'm not your enemy."
Byakuya replied.
He had expected to find native survivors here, so he wasn't too surprised.
But their heavily accented Japanese was a bit hard to understand…
At that moment, Eto also let go of the girl she was holding.
"I don't mean to hurt you either. I promise I won't eat you~"
She said with a smile.
