As the Washuu Clan's true nature was exposed to the world, the system quest was finally considered officially complete.
"Wait… The system shop upgraded?"
That surprised Byakuya.
However, he didn't have the time to focus on the system shop just yet.
At this moment, Yoshitoki's revealed kakugan caused a massive uproar.
The media on site were so terrified that they nearly bolted.
"As you can see, our entire Washuu Clan is a family of ghouls" Yoshitoki stated calmly. "However, there's no need for concern. I have already stepped down, and the current director of the CCG is the Special-Class Investigator standing behind me — Uchiha Byakuya"
With those words, the panicked reporters finally managed to calm down a little.
After saying a few more words, Yoshitoki stepped away from the spotlight.
As the current CCG director, Byakuya had to make a formal statement to the press as well. He delivered some official-sounding remarks but deliberately avoided mentioning anything about peaceful coexistence between humans and ghouls—because it was far too soon for that.
Something like this couldn't be rushed.
If he outright declared that humans and ghouls should coexist, the vast majority of humans would outright reject the idea, leading only to panic and chaos.
That's why Byakuya needed to use the Dragon...
...
After handling the media, Byakuya finally had time to check out what was new in the system shop.
With a single thought, the system interface appeared before him.
[Tier 1 System Shop]

There was no need to even look at the Tier 1 shop—he had already memorized everything in it. Instead, Byakuya immediately flipped to the Tier 2 section.

[Item: Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan Activation Quest (Modified Version)]
Description: A mission-based activation rather than a direct upgrade. Completion of the mission will grant the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. The activation method is system-modified, allowing the process to bypass traditional requirements.
Price: 1000 Attribute Points.
A quick glance through the Tier 2 shop revealed several exciting items—each highly valuable.
Leaving the RC Cell Concentrate aside for now, the Ghoul-Specialized Food Formula was undoubtedly useful.
In the original timeline, developing this type of food would have taken years. But now, Byakuya could purchase the formula directly from the system, eliminating the need to wait.
Then there was the Dimensional Transfer Device—a simple concept, really. It allowed direct travel to the Attack on Titan world.
Back when Byakuya thought about the top three anime that revolved around eating people, Attack on Titan was one of them—the other two being Tokyo Ghoul and Parasyte.
Being able to enter the Attack on Titan world was definitely something to be excited about. And with Kamui, he could return anytime he wanted.
In theory, Kamui could indeed enable travel between different dimensions...
But the most exciting item was the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan Activation Quest.
Byakuya hadn't expected to get the chance to unlock the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan at all. If he succeeded, it would mean that his ability would no longer have any significant drawbacks. He had always wanted to use dual Kamui without worrying about side effects.
Of course, this kind of modification was only possible because of the system. After all, the traditional method of obtaining the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan required fusing one's Mangekyō Sharingan with that of a close relative. But in Obito's case, he had no living relatives with a Mangekyō Sharingan...
Then again, his own Mangekyō Sharingan was already a modified version.
That said, RC cells would still be relevant even after obtaining the Eternal Mangekyō. The strength of his Susanoo would still depend on his RC cell count. However, RC cells wouldn't be as crucial as before.
Looking at the description, it seemed he needed to complete specific missions in order to activate the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
Byakuya was curious to see what kind of tasks were required.
[Current Attribute Points: 2850]
Checking his available points, Byakuya saw he had more than enough to buy everything in the Tier 2 System Shop.
"RC Cell Concentrate and the Dimensional Transfer Device can wait. First, let's see what this Eternal Mangekyō activation quest is all about..."
With his mind made up, Byakuya purchased the quest without hesitation.
[Ding! Successfully purchased "Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan Activation Quest." Attribute Points -1000. Current Attribute Points: 1850!]
Once the purchase was complete, a new [System Item] appeared in the interface.
Opening it, the quest screen appeared before him.
[Quest Requirements]
Task ①: Overthrow the Washuu Clan (1/1) ✅
Task ②: Slay "The Dragon" using "Tengu-Form Susanoo" (0/1)
Task ③: Slay 999 Pure Titans (0/999)
Task ④: Slay 33 Abnormal Titans (0/33)
Task ⑤: Slay "Ape" using "Tengu-Form Susanoo" (0/1)
A single glance revealed that the quests weren't exactly hard, but they weren't easy either...
Slaying 999 Pure Titans would take some time. Meanwhile, using Tengu-Form Susanoo to slay the "Dragon" and "Ape" would be a challenge—activating Fourth-Stage Susanoo was still difficult for him at this point.
"The Dragon" was self-explanatory, while "Ape" likely referred to the Beast Titan.
That said, these quests were simply a matter of time—there was no chance of failure.
