'Let's say if I choose an element, which would it be? I have decent knowledge of dark and time magic, and apart from those two, learning basic attributes like wind, earth, and fire won't be that hard either. Though the question is, which one will increase my strength quickly?'
"Uhh... whatever, I will decide when I am done with my space element," Akeru groaned as he decided to focus on sleep.
While trying to sleep, another thought came to his mind.
'Fuck! I forgot that I needed to create my own Ultimate Magic Spell; the problem is that I don't know how long it would take; it could take either a few weeks or even months. If only I could see one in action... Maybe I should infiltrate Heart Kingdom next; with my strength, it wouldn't be really difficult to escape alive after seeing one in action. However, the risk is considerably high.'
Sleep consumed Akeru as he went into the wonderland.
In the middle of the night, the door slammed open as an individual infiltrated his room.
"Si-" His eyes widened as he suddenly felt a hand, made of water, gripping his neck.
"You better have a good reason to wake me up, otherwise, you won't really like the consequences," Akeru said with a no-nonsense expression to an unfamiliar person.
"An intruder has entered our camp! Commander is holding him at bay."
Just as the guy said this, he found Akeru to be a blur in his vision before disappearing completely.
The water arm gripping him disappeared into vapors.
'Damn, I have put a lot of arrays in my room so that I could sleep peacefully, though it comes with the disadvantage of not being able to react quickly in such situations.' Akeru noted his blunder as he quickly dashed towards the location where he sensed large amounts of mana.
Alarms were blaring throughout the entire camp. People were panicking while preparing themselves to fight.
Akeru would have loved to calm down these people; his existence as a vice commander would be pretty useful. However, he was internally having a bad feeling about this intruder who was at least a Stage 0.
'Is it one of the Shining Generals? Or is there a person from Spade here?' Akeru was worried about the identity of the intruder, especially if it was the latter case.
He really liked Rill, and during his time in the camp, which was short, he had become good enough friends with Rill.
Akeru naturally liked things like arts—especially food, but apart from that, he also had good taste in creative arts like painting, singing, novels, or some form of story.
So, they had quickly hit it off with Rill due to their mutual interests; that's the reason for him being worried currently.
Akeru arrived at the Eastern part of the camp.
'Fuck!' Akeru cursed as he looked at the bloodied ground where two individuals were fighting.
A person, whom Akeru couldn't decide whether they were male or not, was fighting a boar made by Rill.
The person, whom Akeru would refer to as a man for convenience, had a lance made of mana in his hand, which was oscillating erratically as he expertly dodged the attacks of the boar, moving at hypersonic speeds while deflecting some of its attacks.
The shocking thing was that whenever the lance touched the boar, a considerable part of it disappeared.
With another thrust, the boar disappeared completely as the mana it was made of dispersed along with colors flowing on the ground.
However, Aetheris remained unfazed by the paint as he rushed towards Rill, who had quickly created a half-human and half-serpent-like creature, only for it to meet the same fate as the boar.
Rill was not looking in perfect shape to Akeru; his expression told Akeru the full story. Akeru could already guess the man to blame for the bloodshed that had happened due to this intruder's presence.
'Fuck,' Akeru thought as he increased his speed when he looked at the distance between the defenseless Rill and his enemy.
The lightning cloak had turned red long ago as he reached near both of them while a large amount of mana coalesced on his right hand.
'His magic is weird. I really can't get much info on that lance of his, even though it's oscillating weirdly. Unlike my "Oscillatory Dysfunction" spell, the way it moves doesn't really increase its offensive power. I still can't understand its purpose.'
Akeru's analysis proved to be futile as he raced through the bloodied ground containing multiple headless bodies.
'Vibratory Chaos.' Red-green lightning appeared on Akeru's right arm as he moved towards Aetheris.
Suddenly, the lance in Aetheris' hand changed directions almost naturally as his lance met Akeru's hands.
'I need to-' Akeru's eyes widened as he felt something weird with the spell on his right hand.
'Entropic Lance.'
Akeru lost complete control of 'Vibratory Chaos,' which not only led to his right palm getting damaged due to the uncontrolled spell but also pierced his palm.
Akeru's mana zone, which was always around his body in a very small area barely covering his body passively, was unable to stop the lance before getting deactivated as it made contact with the lance.
Akeru's face morphed into horror at this.
'Wh-what the fuck, N-no.'
For the first time since he transmigrated into this world, Akeru lost complete control over his mana.
Mana, which always moved according to his will flawlessly, especially within his body, now refused to listen to him.
It was like a keyboard warrior deprived of the internet.
This naturally led to him being unable to activate his spells, especially 'Still Spectator,' which would have definitely bought a lot of time for him to think.
So, Akeru could only watch helplessly as he barely twisted his body such that the lance, which was passing through his palm, now found itself thrust inside his left lung.
"You have been causing too much trouble in my country. So, I really can't afford to let you off the hook. These are the consequences of your actions. My name is Aetheris. that is the name of your killer."
Another lance materialized in Aetheris's hand, much to the horror and helplessness of Akeru.
Aetheris let go of the lance thrust inside Akeru as he moved his other hand holding the new lance towards Akeru.
Akeru could see what was going to happen next.
'I am going to die.'
Just as that thought came to his mind, Akeru got angry instantly.
'I am not going to lose hope! I am not going to die this lamely. Fucking think!' Akeru felt his world slow down as the lance approached him.
Unlike the 'Still Spectator' increase in perception, what he was feeling was sub-par. But it was welcome in such a situation.
'I can't control my mana. That boar- the mana in it must have destabilized. I see. So that blade could destabilize other people's magic, so should be his magic. Though it is a ridiculous power, every power has its own limitations.' Akeru closed his eyes in the next instant.
Aetheris's eyes widened as he felt multiple palms made of water materialize a few meters away from him.
'Impressive. despite losing control of his mana, he didn't let panic consume him but rather focused on controlling the mana of the surroundings far away from him. For him to do this at this moment just shows how good his external mana control is,' Aetheris thought as he momentarily stopped his body.
Some amount of mana was released around his body, surrounding him. The water hands were destabilized as they touched it.
'Despite his impressive feats, it's pointless to stall me for a moment. The only person who actually has a chance of breaking my mana zone is Rill, though that chance itself is very abysmal. Either way, Rill won't be able to complete any of his drawings in this small time.'
Akeru had jumped back when Aetheris had stopped, the previous lance still in his lung. However, the latter started moving again.
Akeru's speed was insignificant without mana enhancement, making his efforts futile.
Akeru saw Aetheris's lance a few millimeters away from his heart before something unexpected happened.
