Maeve woke up the morning after. Last night had been the first time that she and Lugh had shared their bed as husband and wife, and her maids were already excitedly bustling about talking about babies. A stain of blood was on her bed. Of course, they would be talking about that.
She felt a small throb of pain from last night's intimate moment and memories of the moments they had shared flooded back into her mind. She had done it. She had achieved with Lugh something she never even dreamed about doing with Sirius.
She sat up, her arms smoothing the blankets that covered her, and looked out the window. The sky was gray and overcast like always, but a hint of sun was peeking through.
Sea birds were chatting as they flew around the shore and the breeze smelled like salt. Where had Lugh gone off to this morning? Had he gone out fishing again? It had been nearly a week since he went fishing. If he was, was he also thinking of her? Fishing in her opinion can be very boring.
