Chapter 54 - chapter54:A Mysterious Escape

Just as she was filled with confusion, she suddenly felt a sense of lightness under her feet. Immediately afterwards, the golden bronze chain emitted light once again. In the flickering light, Amy was teleported back into Tom's room. At this time, Amy had resumed her adult form.

When Amy reappeared in the room, both the murderer and the woman with yellow, frizzy hair were stunned and stood rooted to the spot. The murderer's eyes widened, and his voice trembled slightly as he said, "You... how did you come back again? Are you a human or a ghost? How can you change in size?" The woman with yellow hair also exclaimed in horror, "Impossible, how could you appear again? How can a person change in size? This doesn't make sense!" Amy looked at them firmly and said coldly, "You've committed all kinds of evil. Today I'm here to stop you."

Tom's eyes were filled with surprise and confusion when he saw Amy come back. "Little A, how did you come back again? And you... how did you become like this?" Amy quickly walked to Tom's side, untying the ropes binding him as she said, "There's no time to explain. Let's get out of here first." Tom said anxiously, "But..." Amy's eyes flashed with determination. "The most important thing now is to leave this dangerous place. We can look into those things later."

The murderer watched Amy and Tom's interaction, and roared in anger and humiliation, "Want to leave? Not so easy! You're all going to die here today!" With that, the murderer brandished the weapon in his hand and rushed towards Amy and Tom. Amy shielded Tom behind her and said to the murderer, "Do you think you can succeed?"

Just as the two sides were at a standoff, a mysterious fog suddenly filled the room. There seemed to be some unknown power hidden in the fog. Amy and Tom were shrouded in the fog and were at a loss for a moment. The woman with yellow hair took the opportunity to shout at the murderer, "Don't worry about so much. Just kill them first!" The murderer waved his weapon blindly in the fog but couldn't find the exact positions of Amy and Tom.

Amy grabbed Tom's hand and groped in the fog to find an exit. Suddenly, Amy felt her feet go empty, as if she had fallen into a trap. Tom tightly grasped Amy's hand in the darkness and said panicked, "Little A, what's going on?" Amy was also very flustered, but she forced herself to stay calm. "Don't be afraid. We'll definitely find a way out." Tom replied, "Okay."

However, it seemed that the bottom of the trap was a bottomless dark space, and they kept falling. All they could hear was the whistling wind in their ears. Tom said in horror, "What place is this? It feels so terrifying." Amy observed the surrounding sandstorms warily and was stunned by the water vapor suspended in the air. Amy took a deep breath. Based on her biological knowledge, she calmed herself down and held Tom's hand. "Tom, we might have broken through into space. This isn't Earth." Tom's eyes widened upon hearing this. Before Amy could explain, a fierce burst of fire shot into the sky. Amy's eyes stung painfully, and her body spun dizzily.

On the other side, Jack, who was injured at the tunnel entrance, woke up to find himself sitting in a bus. The bus was traveling on a winding mountain road, and there was an indescribably strange atmosphere pervading the interior. Jack sat in his seat, his eyes blank and vacant. He felt as if he had been caught up in an endless fog, and everything around him seemed so unfamiliar.

Amy was sitting in front of him. She turned her head, looked at Jack with unfamiliar eyes, and then nodded slightly. This seemingly ordinary gesture stirred a strange ripple in Jack's heart. He always felt that this girl seemed somewhat familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen her. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found that his throat was choked as if by something, and he could only let out a soft "um" sound. Amy seemed to sense Jack's unease. A look of confusion flashed in her eyes, but it quickly returned to calm. Outside the window, the scenery rushed by quickly, like a flowing scroll painting. But beneath this seemingly calm surface, an intangible sense of mystery hung over the entire bus.

Amy slowly opened her eyes, and the white ceiling immediately came into view. At the same time, a pungent smell of disinfectant flooded into her nostrils like a surging tide. She only felt her head was extremely heavy, as if wrapped tightly in a thick fog that couldn't be dispersed. Her thoughts were like a mess of jumbled threads, and she couldn't make sense of anything. She tried to raise her hand to rub her temples, but as soon as she made a move, she felt an unusual heaviness on her wrist. Amy looked down subconsciously and saw a delicate gold mirror bracelet on her wrist. The bracelet emitted a faint and mysterious light, as if containing a kind of magic power that could deeply attract people just by looking at it. Amy was full of doubts and couldn't help murmuring, "This... where am I?"

Just then, the nurse walked in. Seeing Amy wake up, a gentle smile appeared on the nurse's face as she said, "You finally woke up. You and another companion were sent to our hospital by the police." Amy listened to the nurse's words and tried to search for her previous memories in her mind, but no matter how hard she tried to recall, her mind was just filled with a blur of images. Her gaze involuntarily fell back on the gold mirror bracelet on her wrist, and her heart was filled with questions about this mysterious bracelet.

On the other side, Tom was taken to that dark tunnel. As soon as he stepped into the tunnel, Tom's heart was filled with tension and unease, as if there were countless pairs of eyes peering at him in the darkness. Suddenly, a white Bichon Frise appeared in front of him. The dog's eyes were filled with a fierce light. Just looking at it made people shudder, as if that gaze was a real ice knife that could pierce straight into people's hearts.

Strangely enough, Tom somehow summoned up a burst of courage and even had the idea of taming this dog. Perhaps he realized that in this strange and dangerous place, this dog might be the key to his survival. The white Bichon Frise seemed to sense Tom's thoughts. After circling around him a few times, it actually led Tom to a bell tower.

There was a huge bell hanging in the bell tower, and there was only a narrow space around the bell just enough for one person to pass through. The sound of the bell was majestic and melodious, but to Tom, it was like a disaster was approaching. The huge sound made his ears buzz and his head spin, as if there were thousands of horses galloping through his head.

Suddenly, Tom felt a sense of suffocation around his neck, as if he was being tightly strangled by a hemp rope, making it almost impossible for him to breathe. His throat seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible big hand. Just when he felt desperate, a Taoist priest slowly walked over. The Taoist priest had a calm expression on his face. After looking at Tom's situation, he unhurriedly picked up the sawdust, mixed it with water, and miraculously created a bridge. He gently hung the bell on the bridge, and the bell immediately stopped ringing, as if being muted by an invisible hand. Tom also felt the headache disappear, as if it had been blown away by a gentle breeze.

After the Taoist priest finished all this, he looked at Tom and then silently guided him across the bridge. Tom walked carefully, with a sense of awe in every step, as if the ground beneath his feet was not a bridge but a sacred path leading to an unknown world. After crossing the bridge, the Taoist priest handed Tom a divination paper and splashed some water on his face. Tom only felt a coolness on his face. When he reached out to touch it, he felt as if his face was wearing an old mask, and the rough touch startled him.

When Tom was shocked, the Taoist priest suddenly transformed into a giant Bichon Frise. Before Tom could react, the Bichon Frise leaped into his consciousness. Immediately afterwards, Tom heard the Bichon Frise's voice in his mind: "Tom, you need to send an invitation letter to Amy to invite her to the detective group gathering and help Amy unlock the password and avoid the killing intent until she leaves safely. Only then will I restore your original appearance."

Looking at Amy's side again, the hospital suddenly fell into a panic without any warning. A virus of anemic disease spread like a demon descending into the world. The tense atmosphere after the outbreak was like a thick haze, tightly covering the entire hospital. The corridors in the hospital were in a complete mess. The patients either stared in horror or talked to each other anxiously with worried faces.
